I just picked up a LEER Bed Cap (model # EA 748596) for my 2001 Double Cab with 5’ bed. It has the crank out vent side windows. The ones with the interior single knob in the lower rear corner of the glass and only opens that corner about a half inch to vent. IMG_4136.jpg IMG_4139.jpg IMG_4140.jpg

IMG_4133.jpg I’d like to either modify it or replace the whole window unit with a full access, swing up Windoor type. Does anyone have a pair of these Windoors they would sell? Inside measurement of the frame diagonally at longest point is 50.5”, outside glass diagonally is 57” at longest point. Tinted glass.

It’s Sunday so no Truck Cap Accessory places are open so I figured I’d ask here. Just in case someone has a lead on some or suggestions for a solution. I’ll probably scour local junk yards too.
I know new ones will probably be a fortune.
    I’m in southern NH.

    Aha!
Just found the section under the main menu.
    I’ll poke around there.

Nice find on a 100XQ. I think you will run into issues with converting to a windoor set-up, but anything is possible.

Found zero info in the Tonneau Covers, Caps and Shells forum. Oh well.

@23MGM was thinking the same about the conversion, but I’ll keep searching. A cap I found on a part-out in NJ on marketplace had the side Windoor setup (picture below), but the guy stopped returning my messages so I picked this one up yesterday. The shape/inset does look different.
These caps are so rare I figured I might as well grab the silver one. Needs some work. Hope the parts are available…IMG_4108.jpg

The biggest issue I'm seeing is the xq window isn't even the same shape as the windoor. It won't just be plug and play. Look at the bottom, front of the side windows next to where the Leer emblem is next to the cab. You would have to do some sort of serious modification. I had the 100xl on my 2nd gen and asked the Leer dealer about converting to windoors and they said it wouldn't work. I think where you start getting interchangeable is with the 100r series. Even then, you see occasional stories about people wanting replacement glass because something broke and Leer makes it pretty cost ineffective.

Let me know if you find anything, I have the same exact canopy but black. I would also like to get full access windows. If you’re ever in Oregon and want to trade canopies (I have a silver 4door) let me know :D

@TRD_IV It’s only a 44hr drive each if we meet in the middle and swap. LOL

Ended up stripping this cap clean and sent it to the paint shop. Replaced all the gaskets, hardware, window cranks, brake light and added butyl tape when reinstalling the windows. I gave up on searching for windoor type windows. I actually like the look as is and it’s a short bed so not that difficult to reach into.
