    Hey Y'all,
I had this issue with my Leer cap and found this fix. The 3rd brake light (CHMSL) stopped working. I jumped it out to test it and the Led fired just fine, but didn't come on with brakes. After ripping stuff apart far enough I found this "Logic Module", I took it out and replaced it in about twenty minutes(I found it before the fuse block in the tail light cavity). Mostly because I tagged everything carefully unlike the hack who put on my cap. It works like a charm now.20241123_133451.jpg 20241123_135335.jpg

I'm a topper installer and used to use that exact same logic box every day. They are junk. I replace them all the time because they fail. About 1 in 10 don't even work right when they are brand new.

I switched to this one instead. Haven't had to replace a single one yet:

FYI you don't even need that for a Tacoma. They are for trucks that use the same circuit for the blinker/brake light. On those trucks, the blinker is just a basically a blinking brake light. This takes the left/right blinker signal and outputs a brake light signal if it detects both "blinkers" are lit up at the same time (when you push the brake pedal). Tacoma's have a separate wire just for the brake light in the tail light. You could just tap into that and not even use that logic box. Just a waste and extra failure point for you.
