Just noticed my ARE doing the same thing.

Shifted back about a half inch and rubbed to the bare metal. I’ll use some of the suggestions in this thread I guess. C5104899-7065-4C2E-B357-F1FE007E786E.jpg

My installer added nylok nuts to the bolts below the rail clip and my shell didn't move in 6 years.

I realize this is a zombie thread, but a few people were concerned that drilling a couple holes in the bed sides to thru bolt it would void their warranty… I guess if you’re worried about your trying to warranty your bedside, then that might be a concern (although I’ve never met anyone worried about a warranty on a particular piece of sheet metal). But there’s this really common misconception around here I see all the time that if you do something like change your shocks (or drill a couple holes in your bedside that no Toyota employee would ever even think to look for, much less notice) and then your rear main seal starts leaking or something, that Toyota just blanket voids your entire warranty, and sends you a $2000 bill. That’s complete nonsense.

If you mess with your suspension and then try to warranty a part of the system the you modified, like a failed ball joint, then sure, they might tell you to pound sand. But if you do something like drill a couple holes inside your camper shell to keep it from moving, that is absolutely NOT going to void your warranty if your transmission starts slipping or something. Do you guys who are concerned that every little mod you do will void your warranty really think these Toyota techs (with 20 cars in line after yours) have the time to inspect every nut and bolt on your entire truck? And if they find your camper shell was thru-bolted, now your truck that’s there for a fuel pump under warranty is now not covered? You’d have a better chance of getting attacked by a shark and a bear in the same day and living thru both than Toyota trying to void a warranty over the method used to attach a topper.
