Hard to tell exactly from your pic, but does not appear to be awful. Years ago I had a cracked topper (bad encounter with cinder block) and repaired it with a fiberglass canoe patch kit. The crack was about 8 inches long and I took some time to sand it smooth and repaint so it looked "ok". The repair lasted for the next 4 years I had the truck and the guy I sold it to did not seem to have an issue with it. As long as the crack does not impact an area around where the top attaches to the bed, or near the pivot point for the rear window I suspect a fiberglass repair will work fine

Walk away, $1000 to fix it right, re- glass cracked area, complete re -paint. Unless you are real handy and looking for a project.

If the price is right I'd patch it from the inside and touch up the paint on outside.

I wouldn't pay more than about $100 for a topper with those cracks.

At the same time, fiberglass repair is super easy and shouldn't give you problems ever again if done right. On the outside, sand the cracked areas to bare Fiberglass, prime, then duplicolor spray paint the sanded area plus about 8-12 inches outside. Light coats and sand between with some 3000 grit wet. When it looks great, clear coat and profit! Easily done in a weekend and well worth it if you can get the topper for cheap.

Seeing how they are over $2000 new if I could get it for a couple hundred bucks I'd be all over it.

thanks everyone for the input so far... I agree it does look fixable... but he is asking $1200 Canadian... these toppers do for for a quite a bit in Canada / Harder to find in a used market but still I think 1200 is high, they go for about 3300 new according to my local Cap IT. maybe max 500 Canadian ?

    I wouldn't even offer.

    If he's asking $1200, and you're seeing $500, you're miles apart.

I'd pass, either way, but good luck. Maybe he'll take it.

I wouldn't buy this shell, personally, unless I was competent/confident in my own repair and repaint skills. Having it done professionally will eat up any savings over new.

That's a rip off. I've been looking for my Tacoma on kijiji and 500-700 will get you one in good shape. I'm in Canada as well.
