I did too! Just installed over the weekend and put it to use yesterday helping a friend. Had a little difficulty with the install but I think I got it adjusted just right now.

That butyl tape that it comes with is a game changer too. Curious to use that if I find any more areas for potential leaks.

@FreightTrain love the black bumper, I really need to do that to mine. @Steves55 thanks again for answering questions.

Still love mine months later. Opened it up today to pick up a table & chairs for a friend. Only thing I have noticed is- when driving w/ cover up at freeway speed, I can hear air coming in or out at sliding back glass. Maybe from turbulence between vertical standing cover & cab. I hate that damn glass- want to remove it & install 1 piece glass if I knew what would fit.

No to steal any thunder from Steves55... My Leer X2T has been excellent. Took some trial and error on install (did it myself and had the rails too snug to the bed initially) but I love it. I only have some small at the side of the bed near the tailgate. The rest of the bed stays very dry. It hasn't been bad enough for me to troubleshoot it and try to minimize the leaks any further.

This cover has the correct mix of features for me. I'd be glad to answer any questions you may have in addition to the OP.

Thanks for the reply I definitely appreciate that I’m looking forward to picking one up hopefully the middle of next month. It’s crazy how much Toyota watch for their OEM cover

Do you have to close the tailgate before closing the cover?

I think the instructions say to close the tailgate before closing the cover. I do it both ways (cover first or tail gate first) and I haven't had any noticeable problems. Many times I will just open the tailgate to grab something and close it right back no issue.

Does anyone have the X2T with a short bed (5 foot)? went to go look at some covers today and the guy said the shortbed version will not stand up. And I would not have access to the full bed with the cover in the up right position. But he wasn't 100% sure. Is he right?

He also said it would be more of a pain in the ass to take off bc it doesnt stand up straight. and recommended the extang

I recently sold my Leer 180 and just ordered a Leer Latitude Tonneau Cover. My Leer guy said that comes with a piece to fit in that gap up near the cab (the section that's lower than the bed rail caps). My bed rail caps had some cracks forming from my cap being on for just over 7 years so I replaced them and the tailgate cap. I cleaned up the metal rails and used roll on bed liner on the top before installing the new rail caps. I also ran 2 thick beads of silicone down each rail and used some RTV silicone in the infamous crack where the bed rails meet the piece behind the cab. For good measure, I even put some RTV on the leading edge of the bed rails as that gap was quite noticeable. Things should be sealed up nicely for the new Tonneau Cover.

I have the X2t on a 2017 double cab short bed (5 ft bed). The cover does everything as advertised. I can stand it up vertically parallel with the rear glass to provide full access to the bed.

Let me know if you have other questions or need pictures. I'm out of town until Sunday but when I get back I can show you any position of the cover if it would be helpful.

Thanks for the tips on water sealing the bed. The X2t also comes with some rubberized putty that works well for sealing any small openings.

Thanks for the reply, I knew that guy had no idea what he was talking about. I actually called leer to ask them after 20 mins on hold they confirmed what you just posted. They also informed me that they will be releasing a new hard trifold cover in September

Unfortunately, no I don't think it will work. The factory cover does not have the same rail system that the Leer X2T does. The factory cover rests and seals directly on top of the factory bed side toppers allowing the Voodoo bracket to easily mount and come out underneath the factory cover. The Leer rail will interfere with the installation of the Voodoo rail and bracket system.

If you need me to more clearly take some pictures and illustrate the interference issue I can. I have the X2T and my boss has the factory cover that I can reference in more detail.

This cover has been discontinued by Leer due to the rubber seal on the folds breaking. Has anyone else come across this issue.
I found a dealer near me with some dead stock.

Wow, really? I haven't had this problem, but I've had the cover less than a year and I park in a garage at home so it has less exposure to UV, etc. I'll take a closer look at mine and take extra care to use some rubber cleaner/protector to try to extend the life of those components.

    Of course.
Ask for Jose, tell him Thai referred you.
I paid $849 and he confirms that there are two long bed covers left in stock from his warehouse.

Thanks a lot. Unfortunately I need a short bed and they don’t have any left.
