Does the LPS8 replace the cigarette lighter for an 8th switch?

    Yup.
Nobody uses a CLA anymore for its original intended purpose. And most people just plug in a USB adapter anyway. With the last slot changed to a switch hole, you can have a nice matching dual USB with something like this upload_2018-11-25_20-13-47.jpg

Good point, that dual usb port looks like strictly charging.
My escort 9500ix plugs into the cla but I'm trying to figure out where to mount it....I think the mirror mount point is to obstructive.

Just use a trim tool, put it in the top and slightly wedge it, it will pop out fine, and you won’t see ‘scars’ from hard edged tools (read metal) like the knives they use in the videos.

Thanks to everyone for all the replies and suggestions (too many to quote). I tried a trim tool first, but the gap was too narrow. Watched the video that @Diddymac posted and decided to use a pocket knife. I used painters tape around the side that I would be prying against and it came right out and didn’t leave any marks on the dash.

Oh, and @RBaptist I already had a switch panel in there too that I put in two years ago (I’d just forgotten how I took it out the first time). So I didn’t have a cubby in there to push up on either. Still worked out using the knife technique. I’m now switching to a different switch panel for the ARB compressor switch and trying to figure out where to mount my sPOD HD panel. Again thanks for all the help.

What size hole is the cubby you have your rear light switch in? I've got an An AOB switch that says it will fit the OEM hole, however, that hole seems to be a different size that the switches in the center console. I think the switch I have may be the same as yours. If it is, also interested on how you wired it up since it has two separate light wires coming out of it.

the switch plate bolts to the dash from the backside. The switches are CH 4x4 switches. here is the wiring diagram for everything I did:
