my front end makes a subtle pinging/clicking sound on turns and over some bumps. I don'tfeel it in the steering wheel but I feel it through the floor. It's hard to describe, but it's primarily coming from the front left wheel area.

This is something fairly new as I don’t remember it happening before a week or two ago.

I don’t really take my truck out off road or throw a bunch of miles on it as I travel often and have been swamped with worth stuff lately.

    Anyone else experience
This or have any advice or a solution? Thanks!

Look around the area for anything lodged where it shouldn't be.

It almost sounds like a metal on metal tapping. I can sort of feel it in the pedals too

My 05 started doing this when I put on my lift, but I’m pretty sure it’s a lower ball joint going bad.

Visual inspection looks fine. I’ll probably take it into the dealer, piss away 2 hours of my life and be told is a “normal characteristic” of the truck.

...even though it didn’t do it the first 18 months I owned it.

Had some engine rattling on acceleration on my 17' that dealer couldn't figure out. They said it was something about the fuel and combustion and it's "normal"

Just picked up my 18' last night, doesn't seem to be "normal" since it's doesn't make the noise.

    Happy belated birthday.
Check the sway bar, driver side shock, upper and lower control arm. I would also check the torque on the lug nuts.

Mine does this too! Had dealer check it and they checked torque on all bolts. Nothing stood out to them. I think it's either sway or shock. Getting a lift in a couple weeks so I'll see if it stays after the fact.

    Thanks man!

I didn’t even think about the sway bar, and that’d be an easy one to do. Simply disconnect both sides, drive over a few speed bumps, and see if the sound goes away.

Something similar happened to me months after put on a front skid plate. I couldn't figure out where the noise (a clicking/tapping noise) was coming from, so I took off the skid to see if there was anything wrong with the drive train, and when I put the skid back on and got it re-tightened, the noise went away.

I finally figured out it was the stock skid plate on mine that makes noise on speed bumps sometimes

I had this issue for a LONG,LONG time. Finally got fed up with the dealer telling me its normal when other friends trucks didn't do it, and contacted corporate. Dealer had my truck for a week, swapping parts from a truck on the lot that didn't make the noise. They ended up replacing the front coil/strut combo on both sides and it was gone. I've since traded in for an '18 so I can't say if it came back or not.
