Nothing like taking one annoying driver and then having someone act like even more of a douche in response.

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
I didn't mean to excite so much anger with a simple poll. In my later years I am trying to take the high road, but I have been known to brake for someone if they are a little too close, ONLY if I am meeting or exceeding the limit. If I am under, then I will move over. Unless I am in the right lane, in that case, tough. I try to use common courtesy, but most of the time it just leads to aggravation. :)

You guys got more than one lane on the freeway?
JK, I drive 85 always on the freeway everyday, but there is always that jackhole on the cell, or some soccer mom that won't get the hell over. Then i am forced to pass on the right. The cops up here in MT are pretty easy as long as you are not over 85. Besides, it is only a $20 ticket as long as you are not more than 10 over. And there is no points, so they let you fly.

Oh, i drive the left lane solely unless some one is coming up on me faster than 85 then i get the hell out of their way!!

My habits and preferences are for avoiding lane changes when possible, and the lane I travel in has more to do with how long I'll be on a particular highway. If I'm driving like 100 miles on the same road, I'm in the middle or left lanes. Short trips, or changing highways a lot, the middle/right lanes.

Generally I drive faster than the average, so passing comes into play, and I always get out of someone's way if they're faster (as long as there's space). However, it seems to me that it's safer to be middle/left all the time than middle/right, for these reasons:

    1. Less chance of being cut off by someone crossing your lane to exit
    2. Less chance of having a driver enter in front of you without leaving enough room for braking
    3. Less chance of hitting a safety vehicle/person
    4. Fewer lane changes (which can be unsafe) for all of the reasons above

That said, if I'm doing 80 in the left lane, and a driver is doing the speed limit, I do get pissed if they don't get out of my way, as long as there's room to do so (that last part's important). Like I said, I always get out of the way of faster drivers, when I can.

But to the jackasses who ride my ass when I'm already 15 mph over the limit and there's no way to move right, chill the fuck out.

And you're still a douche who thinks it's okay to hold up traffic in the left lane. Because I don't put up with douches does not make me one. Thanks!

You are a douche if you think it's appropriate to brake check people at highway speeds

So , yes , it does make you a douche

I never said I brake-checked them. I just apply my brakes gently and slow down until they move out of the lane.
