My tacoma has developed a squeak for about a month now, but a week and a half ago, the noise has became noticeable. I watched you tube videos of noisey leaf springs and my truck seems to not have the that problem.I even jumped on the bed of my truck a couple times, but nothing squeaks. The squeaky noise only occurs when the truck is accelerating from 5mph to about 25mph and then dissipates, but when slowing down back to those speeds, the noise reoccurs again. Again its coming from the left wheel region and doesn't seem like its coming from underneath the bed of the truck. Im not sure if the noise is made if I reverse, but I will update with a response tomorrow. Any ideas?

The Universal joints will also squeak when they are dry and have no grease. As a precaution and quick test grease all the universal joints and see if it goes away.

Note: That if you used the "free maintenance" from the dealer they do not include universal joint lubrication in that "free" service.

Did anyone figure the problem ? I have the same problem right now! Mine squeaks 1-2nd gear loud you can hear it a little in 3rd and 4th as well... Trying to figure this out, don't think it's my u- joint or leaf springs, when I jump on end of bed I hear a squeak from my drum area you think it's the bearing or drum ?

Sounds like a leaf spring squeak.
