So i recently did my shocks and struts and I’m doing my leaf springs soon. I’ve noticed that the rear shocks have been stiffer than normal. And the left shock is closed while the on the pavement. What could it be? I’ll update it if I find out the issue.

    That shock looks fairly new.
    Was it previously extended?
You might want to tuck the red & black wires up out of harms way.

That shock is way too long and fully compressed at ride height. It's stiff cause you have no uptravel.

Are those like 10"+ travel shocks on stock, worn-out leafs?

They are new. Me and a buddy of mine installed they this past Friday. I do think the leaf springs are worn out because they don’t seem to have that U shape to them. And the right side are extended. But the left side isn’t, so that’s what I don’t get.

What part number shocks did you get? Seems like you might have an oddball.

Should be on a reciept. Or maybe stamped into the shock tube. Either way that one is too long.

I bought a pair a couple of years ago and one was fine, one was too short, but the boxes were labelled correctly.

Swap the shocks from side to side and compare the results.

You're gonna break it real soon running it like that. Your bump stops should be set to keep that from happening.

Did you buy these shocks used? On craigslist perhaps?

Are your leaf springs a flat shape or an upside down, slight "u" shape? A photo that is not so close up, maybe one that shows both leaf packs and both shocks would be helpful?

That shock is too long. You will damage it. You should have a couple of inches between the rear bump stop and frame or axle. If the truck looks even on both sides then it’s a clear indication that they gave you one shock wrong. Cheers!

Those shocks are way long; what part number is that?

I ask because not only is your shock not supposed to be collapsed like that at ride height, but Tacoma-specific Fox shocks use the older style decals on their shocks.

You get the right sized shock. Right now your shock is your bump stop.

So after doing some research, I found out the fox 2.0 shocks are both the same size where as the bilstiens I had had a longer one for the left side. Also, there was some welding I had to do after installing leaf springs to have it sit as it was before. So it ended being so much more work than I thought.

Ok but I think you skipped over all the important things asked here.

    What are the part numbers?

Even if they were both the same size, they do not differ much between left and right to sit in a collapsed manner. You have the wrong shocks.

And what do you mean by welded?

I've changed his diaper 4 times now

She's about to feed him after vitals and after they check his blood sugar. I'm staying up for whatever she needs but he's chill as hell.
