Help! I have developed a chatter in the left side, louder when turning right increasing pressure on left. Stops during braking. I inspected everything only thing I could find is the spindle was loose on the bottom where it attaches to the lower ball joint attachment piece. I re torqued those. Also torqued sway bar link, tie rod, and tried to tighten the upper ball joint connection to UCA. My tires are worn and I do have some vibration at speed from wear but I don't think this is related as it just started today. Chatter or clunk increases in frequency with speed until it is just a constant click. It is loudest at slow speeds and turning right. Can not duplicate turning wheel by hand.
Inner and outer tie rods seem ok and tight.only play was what I tightened for the bottom of spindle.

I wondered but it's not your typical grinding, it's really a repetitive clunk. Could that be the bearing? Strange it goes bad right after the lift, maybe the removal and re-install.

if it varies with speed and comes from the front in the hub area, the ONLY thing that spins there on a prerunner is the front hub bearing.

Jack it up spin the tire. if it makes noise get a new hub... actually buy two, replace em both. keep the "good one" as an emergency spare.

Yeah I'm leaning that way, but when I spin wheel when it's jacked up, I get no sound
