Had to do some cleaning and rearranging of my shelf. Had to dig out some parts to get sent off for the boys 4runner.

Going to send in the throttle body in for a rebuild and we'll get the spacer boar matched. Or whatever it's called.
Had to fix this guy the other day. It broke last time I was out. Luckily part of the u-bolt held and I was able to tie a strap around it to keep it tight. Might need to find a different latching method.

I finally reinstalled my fender flares. I tryed to get a bunch of sealant around the snorkel connections before I put the liner back on.

I think I need to pull the fender to get the top.
I also started to change out the fender screws for a flat head screw

Son of a bitch!!! Had a bunch of shit written and my fat fingers hits the back button and poof! it's gone!
    Grrrrrr.
Anyways . Trucks going in the shop on mon getting a bunch of stuff done. Since I can't weld for shit I gotta pay . Rear frame rail will be plated . New proportioning valve and new shocks relocated behind the axle with a u-bolt flip kit. Hopefully it'll wrap up the rear-end for a bit. I probably need new leafs but there gonna wait.
Had to pull the shell and the bed. Took me like 4 days to do,I've been sick for almost 2 weeks it's been super awesome.

Well as per usual iv been slacking here. Got some stuff done went some places, killed my rack and finally fixed it for the moment.

Had just gotten the truck back from the fab shop. I was upset. The guy said he was going to cycle the suspension before burning the shock mounts in. Well his idea didn't involve taking the pack apart and we had different ideas about were the upper mounts were supposed to go. I guess I should have gone somewhere else but I was in a time crunch and he came well recommended. Lessons learned. I'll be revisiting the back shocks soon but I'm in dire need of my springs reached and or rebuilt.

Truck was super peppy and looked cool without the bed but man did it ride like shit.
Got the bed back on I had to massage a couple of the crossmembers to clear the tubes. Also added low profile screws to the flairs.

    20210906_023729.jpg
I tried to massage the front flairs with a heat gun . I got mediocre results. It still rubs pretty good on the driver's side. Still. But it looks a little better now.

So I got new rear durabumps. The old one were a little sumished from hitting the stock pad. The fab guy made me some new one's but made them way lower than nessary. And I'm gonna rant here for a sec. Me and this dude both agree that I wanted/needed as much uptravel as possible. We were definitely on different pages. Hopefully new springs will help but I'm not holding my breath. Onto the pics.
The next couple are at ride hight with my shell and carpet kit in. There like probably 3" of total uptravel.

If I remember @turbodb had to mod for more up travel on his setup. I think it was just rotating the lower mounts.
the write up is on his page.
Which I’m sure you already know.

Been awhile we need to catch up soon too!

Definitely!! I saw your truck is under the knife right now.

Gonna have to do something the lack of uptravel makes for a bumpy ride.

    :pout:

Bummer about the lower mounts man, sorry to hear that. And the uppers too I guess if you had to bash your bed a bit. Dang.

It's not that hard to cut off and weld on the lower mounts (speaking from experience). Looking at the pics, it looks like you need to pivot down about 2" to rest at the center of travel, but what I'd do is load up the truck with whatever weight is your "trip weight." Then, figure out how much shaft you want showing and use a ratchet strap to keep the shock compressed at that length. With the length set, you can attach the mount to the lower shock eye and then get it positioned on the rear axle housing and tack it. Then, unbolt the shock and remove it from the mount while you weld the mount to the housing.

That'll get it positioned perfectly. Of course, you'll also need to deal with your bump/strap distances.

Ouch, yea looks like some higher capacity leaf springs or airbags would do you some good for being loaded up
    I know the struggle

Oof. Here's where I was the first time. I ended up taking off the shocks and running the Mojave Road with leaf springs only. Other than being significantly slower than normal b/c there was no way to arrest the up-down of the rear end, it ended up working out just fine.

That's definitely the next thing I'm doing with the truck. My springs are definitely need to be rearched and some added capacity.

Pretty much how mine are.they made it to moab and back.i was just on my bumps the whole trip.

I don't have any pics on my phone of the next night. But it took us about a day and a 1/2 to go through Lockhart basin on our way to moab. 20210915_103812.jpg 20210915_192421.jpg 20210915_192320.jpg 20210916_070305.jpg 20210916_070135.jpg
