Your rig is looking good. I ordered some Diode Dynamics fog lights for my ARB.

Yea I like how yours turned out. I did think about doing a tiregate a while back. I started building one very similar to @Fuergrissa's, but ended up ditching the idea because I realized that I use my tailgate too much as a platform and didn't wanna eliminate it.

So I've done just a few little things here and there.
Fixed the stereo. Well I grounded out the parking brake wires. In stalled the microphone. Put in a correct front facing cam.
Got a couple of trim bits
Tryed to clean up a little bit of the wiring.
    Instaled some splash gards.
    Relocated/put in new washer bottle.
So I no longer have any lights on the dash, for the moment.

So a quick look under at the bussman while I was trying to clean up the wires.
    20200407_161617.jpg
The new washerbottel. I got the idea off a member here. Seams to work well enough.
    20200408_153616.jpg
The splash gards. I had to cut them to work with the upper control arm braces.

Hey Chris, do you think you could possibly grab some pictures of parts of your swingout for me?
I like how yours turned out and I'm looking into doing one on mine. I'm curious on how your hinge and latch are setup on either end.
We have pretty much the same rear bumper, but mine just has a step platform on either side.

What angle are you wanting to see?
The actual swing out has a bend in it to fit the contours of the bumper.

Is that a hydraulic support on the swing out?

Thanks, that's helpful. I was curious on what kind of gusseting/mounting was done on either side to mount the hinge and latch since there isn't much to mount off of other than the tube.

Yeah, not a lot there for sure. But it seems to be pretty solid. It helps that there is a tube the going back to the frame from the bottom. I can get some better pics in the morning if there's a specific angle that you wanna see.

Yea I was just curious to see what a professional shop did to solidly mount the hinge and latch in that space on either side.
Maybe a closer pic of the hinge where you can see how it was welded to the bumper and the backside kinda? Appreciate it!

When you swing it all the way out, is there any significant flex from the hinge on the bumper or around that area?
Do you have to manually lift it at all when you swing it closed to get it to line up, or is there a sort of guide plate to put it in position for latching?

There's a plate. I believe.it just goes into position. Its pretty solid I don't believe that there's any flex.but I haven't really tried to get it to move. I think I did when I first got it. Ill get a video in the morning with pictures to show it.

Thanks. Most everyone that adds a swingout to even a plate bumper has to add reinforcements behind the hinge point because of the flex. Curious how that plays out with our tube bumpers.

Here's the pic's and video. It looked like the whole rear corner of the bumper was moving. Sorry I did the best I could buy myself.

Damn that thing is beefy! Thanks for the pics.
Didn't know there was that much tube work behind the mounting of all of that. Whoever made it did a killer job.

Also that's a thick ass piece of metal used to mount the tube to the hinge, at least it looks solid. More than likely he sleeved the holes and used plate. That would be my guess, but again: impressive fab work.

As for the deflection, doesn't look to be too bad actually. Stronger than I thought. Not like you're gonna be doing pull ups on it either so no doubt it'll stay together.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did the fab work of all that run you?

Thanks I think they did a great job. I wanna say it was like 700 for the swing out and the work on the front bumper.
    Avid offroad. In mesa az.

They've done all of the fab work on my truck.
    Front bumper hoop
    Rear swing out
    Sliders.
    Rear frame plates
    Coil bucket gussets
    Stering knuckle braces.
    Reinforced lower skid mounts.
Bed rack work. I think it was made in there shop not sure.

Pretty reasonable for all the work that went into it, id say
I'll have to check them out if i'm ever in the area.
