x2. I probably got about 80+ different sets throughout my childhood (and teenage years :anonymous:). I'd still probably play with them lol. But yes, just get a huge thing and let him build his own stuff. That's the best thing to do anyways.

    THATS SWEET!

my suggestion (already said)...just buy a massive tub off craigslist (if one is available) and just give it to him. Kits suck, just let him go to town and build the biggest and more ridiculous shit imaginable!

okay... as a proud lego enthusiast...

ebay is the best option for large lots of used/slightly used parts and bricks. You can get big lots of a bunch of different legos. I've done this numerous times. For individual pieces check out www.bricklink.com

Otherwise, do not waste your time buying sets in order to amass pieces otherwise you will go broke. I only buy sets for new pieces and parts or just to collect all the sets. Most sets do not have enough pieces for me.

I have a lot of legos that I've collected since I was a kid...

Legos are probably the best toy ever made. i was a lego freak when i was a kid. it a great way to entertain yourself and a priceless tool to promote creative and technical skills. i turned out to be an engineer thanks to legos.
im glad your'e kid is into them. imo they are worth the money. lego makes a good quality product compared to......mega blocks. those bricks are so cheap.
lego has kept the same overall design of their bricks and little lego men for decades

    thanks Norway

still hoping lego will make a 2nd gen Tacoma set....

Age? Are we talking Lego Duplos (the big ones for kids), or regular size Legos? Whatever you do, don't get off brand Legos, they suck (MegaBlocks and so on).

A little off topic, but I think there is a LEGO thread somewhere to display your pics, BRB.

I would say buy him a set and not a bulk. Unless he has an imagination. If he lacks imagination he will probably just stick blocks together and won't make much of anything.

With a set it shows him what to expect and it gives him a goal. They have so many themes that target many different age groups.

This is what my son is getting for Christmas
