Hey everyone, so as most if us know but the storm Irma is rapidly approaching. Making this post early because I know a group of us will be attending the Cars and Coffee at the Sands soon. I am trying to organize a group to possibly help out where needed. The storm could possibly just pass us but you never know especially how Harvey hit Texas. Let me know if this is a good idea. Made a lost on the Severe Weather thread as well.

So anybody know any junk yards around that have tacomas ? Just curious cause a few that I called didn't

I just had to order the piece that's on the lower corner on the driver side of the windshield , a cowel gasket or something . Stealership wants $19 and change for it .
Would of liked to gotten it cheaper at a junk yard probably

Yeah so last time I checked it was only a category 4, now reports are showing it could be a category 5. Still a lot of time for that to change but some are saying that it could curve up through the Carolinas.

I hope not either. But so far it doesn't look promising.

 

I just hope the people that are supposed to leave, actually leave. Them staying only puts their life, and the life of rescuers at risk.

If it hits us, it shouldn't be that bad. I'll get some information later this week or early next. As part of my job, I do some stuff with FEMA, and maybe called in to the center depending on its path.

 

Do people really think it'll come up this far? I was just reading that South Carolina is a good possibility.

It'll get this far. Last I saw it was going inland at SC, up through NC, then TN and KY. It'll be weakend inland, but can still carry the wind and rain. If it turns and rides the coast it would be potentially worse. Either way, it's still to far out to predict anything.

 

Tag along? My job wouldn't be "on the ground",unless we, RegionIII, are impacted severely. I'd be collecting info and coordinating efforts in support of ESF #11. All done out of the FEMA office.

Emergency Support Function (ESF) #11 – Agriculture and Natural Resources supports State, tribal, and local authorities and other Federal agency efforts to provide nutrition assistance; control and eradicate, as appropriate, any outbreak of a highly contagious or economically devastating animal/zoonotic (i.e., transmitted between animals and people) disease, or any outbreak of an economically devastating plant pest or disease; ensure the safety and security of the commercial food supply; protect natural and cultural resources and historic properties (NCH) resources; and provide for the safety and well-being of household pets during an emergency response or evacuation situation. ESF #11 is activated by the Secretary of Homeland Security for incidents requiring a coordinated Federal response and the availability of support for one or more of these roles/functions.
