EDIT: YES, 3rd gen tacoma leitner racks will work with 4th gen Tacoma's but will require a 260 dollar modification kit that they sell. More info in my Feb post below
    End edit, original post below:
    ________

I'd love to know if the leitner racks from the 3rd gens would be compatible with the beds of the new 4th gen models. if anyone knows anything on that front, post up some news please.

if I upgrade, it would be nice to bring a lot of my toys along with me between these generations

edit: pics show the bed with what looks like the same bed rail system and end of bed attachment points (bottom screws). looks positive that it'll fit, but I have an email out to leitner to find out if they know anything, I'll update here when I find out

You are most likely going to have to wait till the end of the year when 4th Gens come out before you find out anything. That said, on the videos it sounds like the bed is the same shape as before except that it is 7 percent taller.

    heard back from leitner, yup:

if its just a tad taller that might be an easy modification with a height block on the two bars that attach to the bed near the tailgate. buuut i'm no engineer. ok, back to waiting for me :)

Watching thread. Super curious to know as well if I'll be able to move my retrax and leitner over to the new gen. The rail system does look so similar to the 3rd gen.

Good news! My question was will a 3rd gen tacoma leitner rack work on a 4th gen tacoma. From leitner via email this morning:

"Certain parts will but you will need our conversion kit to transfer over to a 4th gen. The cost for conversion is $260. "

So yes, with a slight modification purchase. That's good to know. I really love these racks and if I upgrade truck it's nice to know I can bring that investment over with me

I will update the first post with this info

I was looking at Leitner's website this morning and it seems they have two different version of the NON-tonneu cover model that I do not remember seeing previously. There is a forged version that has a 2005-2023 and 2024+ version. There is also a "no drill" forged version listed as 2005-2024. I'd guess the "no drill" version already has whatever this $260 conversion kit is.
