The ONLY time a friend has driven my truck was when I was shitfaced and couldnt drive. And it literally was a 1/2 mile down a neighborhood road ahaha.

I love having a buddy that doesnt drink and always wants to hang out at my friends places where we party.

Nobody drives the truck but me. Occasionally the girlfriend gets to drive, and I want to get it off road and let her have some fun, but nobody is EVER going to borrow my truck. Ever.

not to sond mean. but you kinda sound like my mom. lol. any time someone would ask for it she would say yes. even it it put us in a bind for a day or 2. i FINALY got her to start saying NO some times. i know one person she is friends with bar owed it like 2 times in a month. one for mulch. one to move. and than 2 more times that year. and when she used it for mulch the top edge of tail gate (just under the edge of factory bed liner) got beat to shit from the pitch fork. dad was kinda pissed. and so was mom. and they did not fill it up or to back wear it was when the got it. my mom does not like saying no to someone other than me and dad. lol

The only person that gets to drive mine is my fiance, and thats only when I've been drinking. I've let 2 friends drive it before. One to test drive it because she was interested in buying one(which she ended up doing), and the other was to go pick up a keg(I was way past drunk, and had the only truck at the house so I went with my buddy to pick it up)...other then that...

My dad and brother are the only people I trust enough to drive it without me in it. I let my best friend drive it offroad one time cause he was showing me how to rock out of a situation. I hate moving shit too, but help 99% of the time cause I'm nice.

So no... don't let them borrow your truck. Your too nice op.

Thanks man. So far it hasnt been brought back to me with any surprises so Ive been cool with it. Now with my mods tho I think that will stop, unless I have the time to go out personally drive and help.

Damn I like how protective u TW'ers are of ur trucks. Gonna make me be more cautious of who and why I lend it out.

I have had 2 kinds of people want to use my truck. Borrowers and moochers. The borrowers know that I will give them a hand and drive for them. The moochers, I have made it so they don't even ask. I put a bed cover on it. It comes off easily, but the "moochers" don't know that. Its a stick, so most can't drive it anyway. I also keep a big tub of junk on the front seat. It looks awful, full of half drunk water bottles and grocery bags and balled up paper and stuff. It discourages people from wanting to get in my truck. The reality is that if you take the tub out, the truck looks relatively new for a 5 year old truck.

I let my parents borrow the truck even though i dont really want to.(they make a mess inside the cab but at least they fill up the tank regardless of how low it was when i gave it to them). But everyone else that wants it for moving shit,i tell them to get a home depot truck.

I got tired of seeing friend's vehicles and other property damages by other friends who said they would pay for it if something happened and never did. I tell them I need a security deposit first. They have to prove they can pay for damages, and not over 6 months or more. Because of this nobody borrows my truck. The only time one of my tools was returned broken I held onto his $1500 ar15 for a week while he replaced the $20 saw.

I never really loan it to even my wife. I say if you need a truck, U-haul rents them pretty cheap, but if you do get it from me in the words of my Step-father, "If you wreck it just keep driving and don't come back"lol
