I just got my Exposed Firearms permit and am in need of a level 3 holster for my Sig Sauer P220. Either nylon look or plain black, no leather or basket weave as all my other gear is nylon.
I've been looking around and I really like the Safariland, but as I'm trying to cut costs a little I can't be too picky. If you have something please let me know!
    Thanks guys!

I use a Blackhawk SERPA level 3 at work. I swear by it...it is comfortable, and can be changed into a drop leg, paddle, belt, or whatever else you might need in your scenarios...

I have a Glock 17 that I carry, but I think they make it for the P220 as well.

You will hear mixed feelings about the SERPA, but it really breaks down to knowing the equipment. Muscle memory will prevent negligent discharges completely. Stupidity will cause them (with any holster)

I totally agree with you about that. As long as you know the equipment you carry common sense and muscle memory will prevent all that.
And i will definitely check out the blackhawk serpa. Thanks!

The Blackhawk SERPA holsters have gotten pretty good reviews from what I've seen and the cost is VERY reasonable.

The SERPA looks promising. Id like to see one in person.
This is the only piece of equipment I still need. I want to start applying for armed guard jobs, just need this last piece. Lol.
    Anybody have something? Lol

I have a blackhawk Serpa for my HK P30L best holder I've ever used. I'd recommend it to anyone, it's light weight, comfortable and does exactly what I need it to do keep my firearm in place and ready at a moments notice. The only safety on my pistol is my finger.

what was the process you had to go through to get your permit? and is it any different from an "open carry?" are you allowed to carry it loaded? Did you have to go through good 'ol Sandy Hutchens? Cause she doesn't like guns really.. or at least guns in the public's hands..

I'll give another bump for blackhawk. Love thier serpa. I'm not big on safariland. I think we have the 6005 model or some crap for our M&P's. Dont like it a bit, or the gun for that matter. I use a serpa holster from blackhawk when I am playing around with my 1911's and love it. Built a lot better and I like the design(gun and holster, coincidentally).

You may, loaded and open carry, only while on duty and en route to and from work.

So for now I am using a standard nylon holster, I guess it would be considered a level 1 retention, until I can find a better one.
So... If anyone has and extra level 2 or 3 retention holster (nylon or plastic look, no snaps) they wouldn't mind selling, it would be greatly apreciated!

I carry one similar to that and really like it

I'm probably in the minority but I don't like the serpa line of holsters
