I also added hellwig 980 full helpers which helped a lot with hauling extra stuffs. raised back about 1/4 inch but ride actually seems better.

Thanks for all the replies fellas

This is what I've been leaning towards...was gonna call bilstein to confirm I can run 5100s or maybe another at 0 height and still get some better dampening out of them. Wheels/tires have been upgraded, and yeah they helped a TON. Tread patch went up about 20%, sidewall reduced about 50%, and they're true road tires (nitto 420s). Had them on my last truck.

Yeah I'm definitely sticking with oem alignment...the bags seem like too much work for me.

Thanks for this. Will look into finding a set maybe.

thanks very much for confirming. I'll begin shopping for one.

Check out the 6112s for the front as a better option than the 5100s, but under a fully adjustable coilover. The damping ability is much greater than 5100s. Having gone from 5100/eibach to the 6112/ 600# Bilstein spring they come with I can tell you they handle much better than the 5100s. If you can afford it I'd recommend them up front.

Okay interesting. Did you not want to do the XR rear leafs? didn't think about them? Or just liked this option better?

Gotcha. I've seen this before on here. Question on the "under a fully adjustable coilover" part you mentioned though. Is all I need to order is the 6112 and the 600# spring to install?

From the import car scene...I'm used to purchasing a coilover as a $3000 set of custom tuned damper and spring that are paired, assembled, and set from the factory so...just unsure what all I need to order.

It comes as a package with the shocks and springs. The only thing you might need is a new top plate. But you could also reuse your stock one if it's in decent shape.

So some of yall might find this interesting.

I called bilstein and talked with their techs. Because I do not want to lift it, and I'm not looking for better off-road performance, they don't recommend any of their higher level shocks. The 5100s they say don't perform well at the 0" setting, they are best from 1-2" lift he said. Also the damping is still tailored towards offroad. 6112's he said is basically same story. Pretty shocked he didn't try to sell me on at least something, but I appreciate the honesty.

Has anybody had any luck calling XII? I called about 7 times over a few days during business hours and it always went to voicemail (with a full inbox so couldn't even leave a message). I emailed them about it and they replied that email works better for them...'what do I want to order'. Even though I specifically mentioned I wanted to ask a bit more about their products and apparently they have some stuff that isn't on their website that I might be interested in. I asked to be called back, which they replied to ask for my number again even though I had put it in the first email.... Then I still didn't get a call the rest of the week. WTH? Pretty crappy customer service IMO. Excellent customer service is their top priority per their website

Not sure how I feel about ordering parts from a company I can never get ahold of. If I was stuck in the middle of an install and needed to ask a question and that was the response level I got...I'd have lost my marbles

Wanted to ask about the rear sway kit and ensure it fits a 6 lug (can't find it on their site anymore) and if its available

Wanted to ask if their 'stock ride height performance' springs would fit over my shocks in the front to just help stiffen it a bit, or if their QA1 setups might be able to be modified or custom-made for my 6 lug.

See if anything they have fits a 6lug, or if they can find me an XR's x-brace.

Their website seems to specify either XR-only or 2wd/5 lug trucks but I could have sworn I saw a rear sway kit on there a few weeks ago that fit my truck. Just wanted to pick their brains in general..

Go to sos/tundra racing. They have stuff for 6 lug tacos. As for the rear brace I just ordered a rear brace from defined engineering. Should be at my house in 2-3 weeks.

Finally spoke with XII, and with Tom at SOS. Looks like there's no options really to maintain stock height and improve road handling besides bracing and sways. At least nobody has known of it yet.

From what research I've done it sounds like the X-runner's brace will fit, but I haven't confirmed if I can keep my tow bracket and spare. Maybe I'll find some harder bushings for the sways while I'm at it.

Yeah I've been checking this out... I doubt anybody has any input on comparison with the x brace but. Do you have one of these? did you notice an improvement? do you have a rear sway?

Negative to all, lol. This is what the pre-runner crowd uses instead of sourcing a x brace.
I have no sway bars (front or rear) and cut off my inverted shackle mount.

Just my cheap .02.... You're better off accepting the truck for what is, I'd throw that $1g at your "fun" car instead. On the other hand, this is TW and we help everyone spend their money. You have a sport so you already better seats, stock bilsteins, and a thicker front sway bar.

Start from the ground up, tires first. If you still have 65 series p rated tires, it doesn't matter how stiff your suspension is. Your sidewalls will roll right under.

Another thing you may want to consider is swapping out your rubber bushings. Cheap, but labor intensive. Upper and lower control arms, leaf spring eyes, power steering rack. The defined site also has shackles with delrin bushings.

XR and 5 lug front sway bar will not fit, without some customization. The rear will. As long as you have the adapter kit from SOS performance.

I have the rear sway bar from Addco, and a front Addco sway bar as well. I do not know if those parts are still sold by Addco.

I need to install my Energy suspension bushings in my leaf springs, and at one point would like to have the Defined Engineering shackles to complement them. With the D.E. brace tidying things up.

Yeah. I am slowly giving up on modifying the springs/shocks and just dealing with braces. Bushings were another idea I had but you're right they are a huge pain. I will look at getting those shackles since they're bolt in. And yes wheels/tires helped tremendously; I'm running a 285/50/20 summer street tire on wheels with a wider stance.

Thanks for confirming the fronts fitment. I remember you mentioning you had the Addco stuff. I'm gonna see how the rear sway helps before I jump for upgrading the front.
