Perhaps the most boring truck in this thread but that's ok. This is Chuck the Truck. Only mods thus far are the title, plastic film on the cluster gauge screen and bed stiffeners for the Lear shell that will hopefully be here this coming week. Down the road will be some seat covers and perhaps a new wheel/tire combo. This is my 2nd silver one as I had a 2005 for 280K miles. That one still runs great as I gave it to my dad who has since added another 30K miles. I attribute its longevity to its silver colored skin. This one should age gracefully as well.

I think the Leer coming in is the 100xr as that sounds familiar. I went with the Cali-raised <sp?> set as I needed the built-in bottle opener mod. I figured I'd let them wire it as the last thing I ever wired was some money to my sister back in the 80's.
You're right about the title making it jump higher and run faster, I do too in fact as my wallet is significantly lighter and more aerodynamic.

Yeah, pretty boring. But I think Tacomas look good when stock or close to stock.
I added a BakFlip hard tonneau to mine, the port added the side-steps and mud-flaps, otherwise it's pretty much stock.

Edit: Yup, went back and checked. Since then: rear seat delete, bed platform in back, solar on cap w/2nd battery and power station, Dobinsons f/r shocks, 650# coils, AAL, skids, sliders and a front camera.

edit: Oops, front bumper, winch and lightbar also.

I really wanted a white truck, but went with silver after reading about all of the trouble with white painted Tacomas.

White or Silver were my choices also. I went with SSM. I like the contrast with the black touches on the OR.

Is the battery lead acid or lithium? What do you run off it and the solar panel? Do the coils support the weight better without sagging?

I just picked up Lil Silver a couple weeks ago. She’s a 22 TRD Off-road. The only thing that I’ve done to her so far is Husky floor liners for the front.

A roof height shell or one with a rise?

Battery is AGM, lithium was considered, but they lose effectiveness in cold weather...and I upgraded the main battery to AGM also for charging uniformity. Lead/acid batteries don't have as good of a drawdown as AGM, and their lifespan goes down fairly quickly. Solar/battery setup runs a refrigerator, lights for camp, charging for phone, laptop or handheld radio. I also have a 1kw inverter. Plus, the battery can easily be disconnected to use for jump-starting in case I do something stupid and run the main battery down.

The coils definitely help support the added weight (so did the AAL). I edited the other post because I forgot to add the front bumper and winch to the list of mods. Stock springs just barely get the job done stock. Add a few hundred pounds and you're beating the hell out of the bumpstops, not to mention the shocks. As a daily driver, it's a bit firmer, you feel more imperfections in the pavement but on the trails, the ride really shines.

Ideally cab-height but if I find a deal on one with a rise, I won’t turn my nose. Do you have a lead?
