You might be surprised what you get out of a single woofer. Seat of pants and older installs tell me I'm getting north of 130 dB out of one ported SA10. It's painful to listen to it more than a few seconds at full tilt and that's on under 600 watts.

I should have taken a video of my JL Audio stealthbox playing before I removed it. It sounded pretty damn good for a single 10".

Why did you remove it? Pros/cons of the box. Looking at that set up for my low end.

Got my 12 inch Skar audio 500w rms sub running on 1 ohm at 750w. I made the ported box myself, but I really want to redo the carpeting here in the future to make it cleaner. The amp is just sitting in the cubby below at the moment. Last Thursday I installed the Skar audio TX69 and TX65 door speakers running on 150w rms on each. My wiring right now is god awful, but I will probably make an amp board behind the double seat and clean up all the wiring in the coming weeks though.

Here’s just my subwoofer. Who needs that seat anyways.

I’m no expert, but it it sounds pretty great to me. It can handle the power I’m putting into it and get gets low. Still trying to work out the kinks in my wiring and tuning with the speakers, but they can get super loud and stay clear. Bass is really punchy. So punchy that I need to put more weather stripping in.

Also need to sound deaden down the road.

I see a lot of setups without screens. Subs push up against the back of the seat a lot. Gotta be affecting the sound during higher flex. The screens are pretty ridged and with the seats up, any pressure pushing back is on the screen leaving the subs completely untouched.

That big sundown is a serious sub. Otherwise, 2 JL shallow mounts will hold their weight against just about anything. I run them pretty low gain and have all I want.

Nice setup. Can you still put your seat backs in?

Yes the pic was taken before I put them back in, also I did not have to remove the plastic on the seat backs and I have wet okole seat covers, and it does not interfere with the subs

Edit: I also changed out the factory head unit to a pioneer 2330 nex

Reviving old thread. 2 skar IX 8’s Ported enclosure tuned to 35hz. I forgot the box specs though.

Edit: I still get to keep child hooks and no cutting of anything beside removing both bins.
