Here’s my setup in my ‘00 Taco. Alpine INE-W970HD head unit. Decided to go old school and run my Alpine ERE-G180 eq I had since the 90’s instead of a DSP. I’m running Hertz separates in the front and coaxials in the rear. I have 2 12” Q Class subs. Started off with one and decided I wanted more lol! Hope to make a single box for both in the future but I kinda like how easy it is to remove a single box if needed. Mids are ran off an Alpine PDX-V9 (not pictured). I was running the 5th channel on it to run my subs but it wasn’t enough so I picked up a Kicker CXA-1200 but now I’m wishing I picked up the CXA-1800 lol!

Also, although the hertz tweeters sound very clean and smooth I’m looking at replacing them with Jo audio C7’s and re-doing the sail panels due the fact that my first try installing them ended hiding them almost behind the dashboard. I can hear them loud and clear but I think the image and aesthetics will be more satisfying if I can re-set them a bit higher and more centered on the sail panel. That will be a project on its own since I’ve never done custom work with body filler nor fiber glass. Once I can install the new tweeters I also want to go active on all the speakers/components with the VX series amps C3470955-D5F2-43E4-8C53-4CE2D931BF6F.jpg 896D8695-EC1F-4861-8777-2160F65EBFDA.jpg 0D5DB234-6E04-4CC2-97CF-6FE6A5BD7EF1.jpg 3D69B1C8-4526-4C5F-9A02-0B1ACFB6B178.jpg 1107DF3D-A0FA-471E-828F-C1FA07C7AC4F.jpg 6B8E5FB2-B08A-42BB-B5D0-491A204F83FE.jpgimage.jpg C3470955-D5F2-43E4-8C53-4CE2D931BF6F.jpg 896D8695-EC1F-4861-8777-2160F65EBFDA.jpg 0D5DB234-6E04-4CC2-97CF-6FE6A5BD7EF1.jpg 3D69B1C8-4526-4C5F-9A02-0B1ACFB6B178.jpg 1107DF3D-A0FA-471E-828F-C1FA07C7AC4F.jpg 6B8E5FB2-B08A-42BB-B5D0-491A204F83FE.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg 6B8E5FB2-B08A-42BB-B5D0-491A204F83FE.jpg

I still have a lot of car stereo equipment from the 90’s laying around like decks, amps and cd changers. They’re like gold nowadays since people like to build their cars period correct. Probably gonna hang on to them for a while more and sell them later. Gonna keep the ERE-G180 though LOL!

Didn't get any pics, will try and get some taken although not much to see. Finally got my stuff all installed over the past few days.

Alpine ILX-507 (probably should have went with the Halo9 but had a hard time justifying the additional cost).
    NVX-NDA501 5 channel amp
    Morel 6.5 components up front
Morell 6.5 Coax in rear doors
    Burrito Tunes 12" box
Sundown SD2 sub (the original from back in 2013 or so)
Sound deadened and CCF the doors, floor and rear panel

Overall pretty pleased. The headunit swap was night and day better even with the stock speakers and Kicker tweets. The sub is struggling in the small enclosure, pretty boomy as was feared and being a dual 2 ohm doesn't help powerwise. Considering swapping it for a slimline JL or Kicker but going to play with EQ first to see if I can get it to balance out better.

Any Mods? One. Maybe two, tops...
How did you like the ILX-507? I got the same HU but haven’t got around installing it.

Was your old HU also an Alpine? If so, should’ve been pretty much “Plug and Play” with the connections. I’m hoping that’s the case. I’m going from Alpine INE-W967HD to the ILX-507. By looking at the installation diagrams, it looks “Plug and Play”. Hope I’m right.

So far I really like it. If I had any complaint it is the 7" screen being smaller than the OEM I removed, hence the Halo9 comment. I got mine from Crutchfield w/ all the adapters. It was pretty much plug and play. The only wires you had to solder/splice are the power antenna wire and the parking brake wire if I remember correctly.

Sound quality is on point with the ILX-507, basically has a poor mans DSP built in. I toyed with the idea of going active but just running passive for now. Maybe down the road I will change it up. All of the stuff I got is budget/entry level and I couldn't be happier. I did order a Kicker CompRT 12 today to try in place of the Sundown, so will see how that works.

Updated the original post to include this screenshot (not sure why it's so blurry), but after 2 weeks of tuning on this system off and on to let my ears rest and spend some time in my tC (which I'm using as the control for this tune since that system rips), this is what I've come up with that sounds the best to my ears in my truck with the Focal Flax / JL setup:

How do you like the Audison 10" so far? I am hoping to build an Audison Doors/ 5ch.amp system soon and im still not sure what sub I like. Should I stay with their sub, or break the system and go with someone else for the same cost or lower? Id be putting it in a custom box.

Stinger head unit, Alpine S-A60m mono amp tucked under driver's seat powering JL Audio Stealth box. The factory JBL amp was relocated under the passenger seat. FYI, alot of folks asked how I fit the JBL amp under the passenger seat with that seat bar in the way. That bar is bolted on so unbolt it, rotate it 90deg and bolt it back in. The seat has to be removed to do this.

So I finally finish these pods for my tweeters for my third gen Tacoma.
After not finding anything pre-made I attempted to do it myself and this is the end result.
Not perfect as I can see all the defects but I wasn’t willing to place the tweeters in the dash location.
My goal is to keep a 2-2.5 inch speaker and create a 3 way system for the front stage
I bought a set of Audison AV 6 components and looking to order the Audison 2.5 inch for the dash
