Uh...I not 100% on the terminology here....I installed the one way check per the directions then to the throttle body....I’m pretty sure it’s right.

Yes. Per the instructions I did....if it was wrong I’d think I’d be having some issues running correctly. The marked black end went toward the throttle body.

Ok sound great, recheck all your hose connection tomorrow in daylight, if you have ANY vacuum leaks
it will make the truck run grrrrrrrrrumpy, and install the new plugs, I don't remember gap.
And get a full tank of gas, premium, and burn a little rubber, but Don't scare any 2nd or 3 gens yet, :)

Well if you don't ping you will be one of the lucky ones like me, and that means you can get a smaller pulley if you want and get a methonal kit or just run it this way for now

Your new rear wheel power curve will be 2200 rpm will be your peak torque and peak horse power will be around 5000 rpms, much different than the stock engine,
If you 4wheel a lot having peak torque at 2200 rpms is fantastic!!

Sounds like you should be all set. Great advice from @1997tacomav6 !!!

Be sure to get those plugs installed ASAP. I’m sure you don’t want to hear this now but they are a lot easier to install with the Intake manifold off. Anyhow, you’ll really like the boost. Makes the truck so fun

If I do have ping its very little. I haven’t noticed it yet. I also got the MotorVac carbon cleaning service. To try to reduce any ping I’d get before I did the S/C

Here’s a pic of one of the intake valves after I removed the plenum. It looks like it did a okay job of cleaning below the injectors.....I have no idea if this looks good or bad for 109000miles.....previous owner did not baby this thing at all.

I guess I do it tomorrow. I just find it weird that TRD dosent recommend installing cooler plugs. The guy over at John Bond Performance, super nice guy BTW, is real adamant that you don’t need to do anything at all after installing...now Gadget at URD has a very different opinion......

It's all about the ping, if you google supercharger and cooler plugs it will tell you why you should.
Supercharging/turbocharging: With increased pressure and temperature in the chamber, two or more heat ranges colder may be needed. Extreme high-boost race-only applications may need a surface-gap plug.

Yeah I read up on that as well....but again what you hear from a few different sources is this...”TRD designed the S/C to be Carb approved in 50 states without the use of additional mods” etc.....but then I guess changed their mind when they started selling the TRD 7th injector.

The older TRD superchargers ALL tend to run a little lean, it's a fact!!

Do you have an afr gauge installed? I definitely would want to keep an eye on afr before hitting it real hard. You don’t want to lean out at high rpms. This is the other problem besides ping. Pinging and leaning out are the 2 things to watch for with a SC installed.

This could be a knock sensor problem. Here's some info that might help. If it is a knock sensor there "should" be a code to indicate a problem. You might also try a couple of tanks of Shell high test.

Good advice, I think he said he was ordering one, but he can also have a dyno run for 50.00 at a speed shop to see all the values
