    This would imply I'm doing a front-rear rotation; I prefer a rear-cross rotation.
I prefer to use the recommended lift points; these are nowhere near center of gravity.

My word of caution: You have no idea where true center of gravity is. Although the factory service manual(not the owner's manual) provides this information for purposes of a positioning lift arms on a post lift, it assumes an unladen vehicle.

Honestly, I'm not trying to break any speed records...and actually, I take the time to clean the inside of the wheel and tire, when the wheel is off the vehicle.

Yeah, I’m doing front to rear rotation. But I get what you’re saying. It seems not safe and I won’t able to find dead center of gravity. With a floor jack, two jack stand, wheel chocks, its doable. Center of gravity, it’s not dead center, but close enough where both wheel go off the ground at the same time (takes me a few tries to find it). Of course I didn’t mention in detail how it’s done before, but I though common sense when safety is involve everyone should use jack stand and wheel chock.
