is your truck 2wd or 4x4?

 

This is exactly why I told my buddy no when he asked to borrow my GTO for a date.

 

At least he is paying for it and taking the steps to get it fixed. It's not ideal and it's going to cost you alot of time but it could be worse. Needless to say you wont have to pick up any bar tabs for a while.

 

It's one thing to vent about this issue and it's another to call your friend a lame piece of shit to strangers on a constant flow.

Your friend had an accident. He's covering it.

You are such an ass that none of that means anything, you're carrying on like he's a son of a bitch for denting some metal you let him borrow like you hope he gets cancer or something.

I feel less bad for him and more for you. You look like a total asshole, while he looks like someone in an unfortunate situation.

 

OK everyone. Obviously you all didn't get the point of this and now are just throwing jabs. Clearly only one person did and I alreayd thanked him for his understanding. So let me clear the air because it seems like it needs to be done.

This was just to vent. I'm pissed that my truck got damaged. That's all. I already accepted his apology and told him I appreciated him being honest and making the first step in calling his insurance.

And to say I'm a shitty friend (@DCSBFTMFW) is up to you. My conscience is clear and I know I am not. I have let him borrow my truck numerous occasions, so say that is definitely not accurate. Matter of fact, not just about this particular instance. Everyone that knows me knows I am always the first to help. So again, my conscience is clear.

My intent with this was just to vent, again, and get some feedback and chat with fellow TW "friends". Clearly not everyone is on that wagon, so I'll leave it at that. To each his own opinion. And he knows everything is OK and no biggie, for the record.

Just reading the page you wrote in your own book, out loud. Maybe the largely negative feedback you're getting from strangers will show you that even to outside opinion you're not conducting yourself well.

Or maybe everybody just doesn't understand.

Same thing happened to me with my neighbors, not as bad, it was actually pretty small potatoes.
They were so stressed out and wanted to fix it. Easily they could have not even told me.
I know yours is much more obvious but it sounds like your friend manned up.
In the end for me, I weighed that sometimes friends make poor choices just like I do.
I will know better next time not to lend my truck.

My apologies then for not making it clear that it was just a venting thread. That's all it was. And all the comments about what to do with the body, car, him, etc, were just jokes, nothing more.

 

I get your vent concept, but take all of the responses with a grain of salt. The internet, just like emails cannot convey a "spirit" in which you meant to come across since it's just words on a screen. Never take anything personally because each poster reads things a little differently eh... maybe unless they just curse you out; which is why I don't sweat it and would honestly NEVER consider online folks my "Friends" as you mentioned and shit I would also NEVER loan my truck out to either online people or my local "friends" Let's keep Penske, Budget and Uhaul in business, I mean shit, we have an economy to worry about here .... hope it works out OP

 

Again, this was just meant as a venting thing and nothing more. Everything was handled very civilized and properly between us both and no insults of any sort. This was meant as a vent post, and the comments as a joke. Nothing more.

It is a vent thread. I acknowledged that. We are all (except a handful) saying that venting is not telling the Internet your friend is a piece of shit because he had an extremely minor accident in your borrowed vehicle.
