Let me see your 3rd gen Bed Caps!

In the market to buy a bed cap for my 3rd gen, wanted to see what options there are/what they look like on our trucks.

i dont know if im crazy about the extra height, but I can definitely see it being useful. Did you lose much mpgs with that?

No, not at all. Very aerodynamic. Went with higher volume because I have a SB. What hit my mpg was my leveling kit and Cooper AT3s!

 

Sorry I can't tell you about gas mileage. Never check it.

 

I have a 2017 tacoma access cab with a 6' bed and I just had an A.R.E. cap installed on it, and I don't think it
really fits...the edges of the cap are not flush with the side of the truck bed...the edges bow out the further you
go down the cap. You can get your fingers under the edges...and...it was supposed to come with the bottom
trim option, but the installer...(after the fact) told me that the trim will come off from the end corners...that the
mold for the trim at the A.R.E. manufacturer has not been adapted for trucks beyond 2015...so, no trim on my cap.
The whole ordeal has pissed me off and I am trying to just return the cap, and eventually find one that is made to
fit trucks built after 2015. So...I don't know as I'd order an A.R.E. cap if I were you. My 2011 A.R.E. cap was perfect.

That's a bummer. I've had mixed results over the years with all manufacturers. Mine fits perfectly. I didn't want the trim, so can't speak to that. Might try a different dealer?
