Eureka! I pulled off the tail light last night just to check it out. Cool beans. I'll probably pair these with a tailgate lock sometime soon. Probably sometime September/October, once I can give her a good cleanup and before I get fluid film all up in there.

75%. Toyota can do it "factory", but it's just a pop n lock. I think you have to splice a wire in the pasenger area.

Looks like this guy wired it to another switch instead, makes sense:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/power-tailgate-lock-the-definitive-install.608057/

I can't open these at work, so based on the title there might be a plug and play with a harness instead of splicing wires:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hf5Mr-6PbVU

Actually, I might take a look at that thread instead and do it as a manual lock but still a power tailgate lock instead of the manual. TBD, I kind of like that idea.

For the most part. You have to run the cable bundle all the way to the kick panel on the passenger side which was kind of a pita.

Im feeling this sentiment. I went from a lifted 2012 with E rated tires to my 21 in March and am really enjoying the ride.

Make sure they are an actual OEM part, some have said the harnesses are cheaper and don’t match up

OH Shit - @mabepossibly I think was the one that mentioned they closed it off to everything but ATYV/SXS. I am heading up in a few weekends and will be swinging by the northern entrance to see if there's gates/signage anywhere. I don't think the southern end is within reach where I'm planning to be.

Can't tell if joking or not.

Do they just not want stock rigs going alone and getting stuck?

yah, I saw it on one of the FB groups that some trucks were chased out by rangers and the sheriff. Then a few weeks later Dorset was closed.

Gonna see how far I can go stock suspension. I got sliders and am doing skids and tires soon. If your gonna be low you gotta be armored!
