You did this to yourself by suggesting to go look at the GM's. She loved the crv and you said lets looks at this. Well now she gets what she wants if you wanted the crv then you should have stuck with that route and not gone to the gm dealership.

Over the last three years, I've been slowly converting my girlfriend into a Toyota fan like myself. Now she wants a white DCSB or a new 4Runner. The trick is to get them to like what you like, while making them think it their idea.

she's your wife..not your property. let her make her own decisions.

remember, the money. it's not just yours anymore. belongs to both of you.

Hey bud, there was some humility intended in the title. She loves the CR-V but keeps hinting towards a GMC. She will easily agree to Honda cause she loves that car too. I just know deep down she likes the GMC a bit more.

The reason I intervene is because I will be the one maintaining the car and ensuring the car doesn't break down on her and leave her disappointed. That's why I prefer the CR-V.

Im the same way man...if I'm going to maintain it id prefer the easier more reliable route.. But then again, I have also banned the idea of owning anything touched by GM. My wife is onboard with that though since since i banned GM after her POS Blazer shit itself 3x even after we put money into it to get things fixed only had (75k miles on it). The final straw was while i was deployed... i was so pissed i searched online for the nearest dealer and found a sweet preowned 4runner and told her to just go buy it. She did and is completely happy with it!

I don't get what you are saying? Me and my wife do look at our money as ours and she is very fair with how she spends. What are you talking about with your situation?

Damn, where do I sign up for one of those?

To the OP - seriously tho, if she liked the CR-V I would go with it. If she was completely against it and you were actually forcing her... bad idea.

In 2005 I decided it was time to get my wife a new car since her 1995 Camry was getting a bit long in the tooth and she had a long commute. I asked her what kind of car she wanted, she said "I don't care". I asked her what color car she wanted, she said "I don't care". I was getting frustrated and asked what exactly did she want and she said "I just want a CD player". LOL So she wound up with a 2005 Silver Camry which just hit 100K miles and still looks and drives like new.

    Yes.
I would never let someone pick a vehicle for me. Ever. I did however convince my fiance that he should get a Toyota rather than a Nissan. Ha.

    What are you, her dad?

It's her car, not yours. Would you like her telling you what your next car is?

I said "my wife", that implies I'm her husband.

It's not like the GMC is going to break down every time she takes it to the store. At worst , it might not last as long as the Honda nor keep it's resale value, but it will serve you well and reliably for years.
