The case is a mess...

and the media spin from each side will give you a migraine.

plus, politics is so deep into it at this point...there is no point discussing the case here.

the situation is so FUBAR, we the people will probably never know the real truth.

I live 3 miles from here and work in downtown Sanford where all the rally's are taking place. It's getting blown way out of proportion. The city released the police report a couple days ago. Trayvon was 6'3 and was beating the shit out of Zimmerman. The report states he was slamming Zimmermans head into the concrete and punching him in the face when the shot was fired. Trayvonasaurus-Rex was also expelled from school in Miami recently when marijuana residue was found in his backpack. Twitter/Facebook posts from trayvon show him bragging about how he beat up a bus driver. The kid was not a model citizen like the media wants everyone to believe. He was trash and got what he deserved. That's why we have the stand your ground law in Florida. I'm sorry but if some 6'3 thug was slamming my head into the concrete I would have done the same thing.

Only problem was Zimmerman put himself in that position by following the kid and then not heed the police when they said not to follow trayvon. He put trayvon in a corner and then while getting his ass beat turned a fist fight into a gun fight. Both sides are to blame.

 

Send Zimmerman to jail for 5-10 years hard labor and end the case. Problem solved.

As stated in several other posts, you don't know any of this to be the real facts. Let the law do it's work, let the media and the politicians trial it in the media as they always do. Save your arm chair quarter backing for football.

No such thing, assault is assault. You attack me with a tooth brush, at 6' + and have 30+ lbs on me, and you will, I am going to shoot you dead.

I agree but if you put yourself into the situation tactics should change... i know in VA neighborhood watch isnt allowed to carry weapons.

The truth will prolly never come out in a case where soo many politicians, celebrities ans the president get involved in.

 

Why was he following him? Did he iniate contact first after following him?

If the answer to the second question is yes, then stand your ground is voided to me. If he was following him to observe him, yet Trayvon turned on him and confronted him that's stand your ground.

 

I do have a question, Trayvon had been suspended for marijuana, was he high at the time of the confrontation?

 

Wasn't this supposed to be a gated community? If so, wasn't the kid trespassing? If a crime is being committed, a citizen is allowed to detain someone until the police arrive. You open yourself up to civil lawsuits, and you'd damn well better be right about there being a crime committed, but if it's legit, you're legal.

Now, if the kid decided to use whatever force was necessary to escape, that's not justification to shoot him. But if he decided to get him on the ground and beat his ass, then game on. If a man is on the concrete, on his back, getting his head beaten, he's in danger of dying or becoming a vegetable, lethal force is justified.

Rich white dude with an ego versus a poor, innocent black kid walking home from school....that's what the media is going to tell us. That's the kind of thing that sells papers and raises TV ratings.

I wasn't there, I didn't see what happened. Hopefully there are some good witnesses, hopefully Zimmerman has a good lawyer to defend him. The state of Florida has some good prosecutors who will try to put him in jail if charges are filed. Let's hope the system works as designed and provides justice to whoever deserves it right now.

Morally, I think Zimmerman probably pushed it too far. He's got to live with taking a life.....I hope that weighs heavily on him for the rest of his days. No one deserves to die for trespassing.....but no one deserves to have his head beaten in either for confronting a trespasser.
