Yeah, I stumbled across this one while exploring around Montezuma. Heavy Jeep traffic on weekends at the Mill on Peru Creek less so up Cinnamon gulch to this mine (Provided I am right). Would be cool if they could open Argentine pass so you could get up into that basin from here but that would take some doing from all the rock slides.

Alright, given last few years I rarely take pics anymore and ones I have are already been "played". I am down to just 2 options, One of which could literally be anywhere.

I will go with this one over below...

Bonus points for naming the trail to get to this. Hint it is near Hoosier Pass & involves a section named Bowling Ball Hill.

First pic is Lake San Cristobal. Second one is an abandoned mine tunnel by Wheeler Lake

I'm about tapped out too from lack of wheeling pics. Another mine/mill at the end of this trail, where the open/close status of the gate has been debated.

Champion Mill, at the bottom of the tramway from the mine on the south face of Mt Champion. Trail in question is not on the USFS MVUM, therefore is not legal for motorized travel.

Correct on the mill. Accessible via a short uphill hike from the end of one of the forks on Halfmoon Creek near Leadville. You're up.

I think you mean just before the Gate (Old Truck is just past this gate if memory serves me right) below the Mill and right before the cluster of trees. Regardless of Gate locked/ unlocked/ laying on ground/ under snow/ Betty the Yeti giving you come hither looks/ wide open with official looking person waving you through- it's the end of the 4x4 trail.

the 110 trail ends at waypoint 9. There is a locked (but not always) gate at this waypoint owned by Outward Bound. You can hike beyond these areas but as of 2016, they are not designated for OHV travel.
    -Courtesy of TrailsOffroad.

This is one of Many trails currently "Under Review" by the Forest Service for Closure, along with the "Gulches"- including Slaughterhouse Gulch (Currently on its Seasonal Closure but also NOT GATED).

Not the right thread for this, but FYI - I was there in September. There was a new gate by the cabin, but I parked and walked 1/4 mile or so to the mill. There's been some 'restoration' work happening to keep it from collapsing, and a lot of new No Trespassing and Keep Out signs. I did drive up to the mine, there was no indication that that road was closed, but I understand it's not on the MVUM.

This is maybe a bit less of "Colorado Wheeling Locations" and more of "Colorado exploring trip photos". It's not a highly trafficked route and is a dead end.

I think I figured it out based on an educated guess on which paved road that is and some google earth cheating.

FS821 (Mill Creek road?) off of Red Mountain Pass?

Steve answered this one correctly above. It's along Cinnamon Gulch, and I think is considered the upper portion of Pennsylvania Mine.

I was thinking the paved road would be the clue for those who don't know the area off the top of their head. I checked the curves of Highway 40 where you turn off for Jones Pass to see if it looked right, but it didn't.

I like your style (using Google Earth). Took a peek myself and I'd say you're correct.

    Is using GE cheating? :notsure:
