Running a trail this weekend and this screw clip dropped onto [I think] my right foot. I know I've seen this somewhere and think it is placed over a bar where a bolt screws in to secure it, but can't for the life of me find out exactly where it came from. Obviously somewhere under the steering column, or possibly up to the dash? IMG_9048.jpg IMG_9047.jpg IMG_9046.jpg Does anyone know off hand where this belongs?
    Truck is a 2002 OR 5spd.
    Thanks!

Well, there's got to be a bolt hanging around under there somewhere all lonely and such. Get on your back with a flashlight or head lamp and start perusing around.

There are a few of them under the dash I believe. Take out the lower section of the dash (below the steering wheel) and you should find the loose bolt. I'm thinking the one just to the right of the steering column, because on my truck the plastic bit that this piece is supposed to slide onto broke and it barely holds in place now.

Think those are just part the standard short Phillips head screws that throughout the dash. Could be any number of places really

The guy who had my truck before me stripped out a bunch of holes so I'm going to start epoxying some nuts back there so I can go back to using standard size bolts in the holes - even the ones that were originally philips screws. If you look around long enough you'll find where it came from ;)

lower plastic panels have no threads in them. These are used for that purpose. Remove your lower panel and you'll know where it goes.

Thanks for the replies. I was looking up in there yesterday but it sounds like I just need to remove the lower panel to get a better view. Wouldn't the bolt that goes through this already have fallen out if this came loose?

Possibly, but some of the bolts could be wedged in there enough that they haven't fallen out yet.

Good question lol. It seems it would have to have cone undone completely for that to fall out.
