What a horrible thread! I like it. Not my picture, but I used it to creep out a co-worker that hates spiders.

The bigger question is do these spiders have names? lol

I mean, pet names. Not them fancy Latin names.

I'd need to dig up the photos... but saw some tarantulas in the Amazon. The guide was coaxing them out of their burros and they were pissed. And huge. And we were 3 hours by boat from the nearest anything.

I read a story about a miner in Arizona in the late 1800s who put his boot on one morning with a centipede inside. He immediately went to the local saloon to drink away the pain. There was some debate whether the centipede or the booze killed him.

A few years ago, I opened my mailbox to get the mail and found a black widow in there. Grabbed the mail carefully and returned with torch... With "fist full of dollars music" in my head, lit torch and yanked mailbox open.. I won.

Brown Recluse. Buddy got bit and got hit with some heavy flesh eating bacteria. He's undergone multiple surgeries for a bite that started out the size of a pea, and is now a scar the size of a post it note and is still being treated, it's been months. The worst part, these things are common.
