    Sorry to dig this back up, do you know what kind of spider that is? I just dug one out of a burrow and killed it in New Mexico with a flame thrower.

    Mine looked more like a tarantula, but the gray/black color pattern and short hair didn’t quite match up with anything I’ve seen. I don’t think we have trap door spiders here but the burrow hole was about the size of a nickel.

    Edit* it was a burrowing wolf spider, tend to be much darker and fairly large as far as wold spiders go. Similar to tarantulas but not nearly as cool, I will continue to kill them with fire.
