Edit: I misread your question and swapped generations. I haven't seen anyone put a 3rd gen top on a 2nd. Vice versa, yes.

But back on topic: did your Softopper leak any mud or water in?

 

For those that have purchase replacement cosmos from Softopper for a 2nd gen, which part number is the correct one? Both say they fit a Toyota Tacoma with utility tracks.

 

For my 2015 the one on top looked like the set I received with my Bestop. SKC-1

The bottom ones came with my 3rd gen....if that helps at all

 

I don't currently own a Softopper. Are referring to the bars that sit on top of the bed rails? Are there different models of rails within the Softopper line?

 

I have an older model and the rails that sit on top of the bed rails are a square tube. I think the design of the newer ones are different

 

Bottom one, it will clamp the softoppers railing to the utility railing from your truck.

 

I use the Velcro that comes wit it and stick them on the tailgate. Problem solve.

 

I have a set of second gen softopper clamps if someone wants them.

I'm in the hunt for a Softopper in the 6ft variety.

 

Just put mine on today . About ten minutes after I finished a thunder storm came through. Nice and dry in the bed.
