Here's mine, went from the best top to softtopper and fit and seal is much better on the softopper!
Also working on an over softopper aluminum bed rack that should be available soon.

Is the rack pictured a prototype? Availability for 2nd fitment? If so I'm very interested!

Anyone running a gray Softopper on a black truck? I have seen a couple here but few and far between. I'm considering gray for the contrast but would like to see a few more examples of it in reality first.

Which back window comes standard when ordering new? I don't see an option to select clear, light tint or dark tint. I called Softopper and got voicemail, haven't heard back yet.

Clear back for me as well. Don't know if they offer a tint.

I also installed bed lighting this weekend. Major difference! IMG_20170410_202611.jpg

I kind of assumed as much. Clear/light tint unless otherwise stated.

If you go to order a replacement window on the site there are 3 options; light tint, dark tint, solid fabric.

The same shit everyone else has.
Details on the lighting? Im still trying to decide the best option to add more lighting to my bed. I already have LEDs under the bed rails, but I wanna add something else across the ceiling of the topper like you have.

I don't think this is correct. There is the window version, the mesh version, and the solid version. You have to ask for the solid version, it is not listed. I have all three.

I don't think there is a tint version unless it is also not listed, like In-N-Out's hidden menu or something.

    overall opinion

softoppers rock. snow won't hurt em, touch free carwashes won't hurt 'em, even the blower stage...
driving over 100mph won't hurt them....

it is like having a cap on the back that doesn't weigh 200 lbs, and suck MPG's from the weight, and need two people to remove,
easy to pop down or remove to haul big items. when set up and you go through the initial tightening of the rails, then
retighten them two more times, it just remains rock solid zero problems. no it is not 100% water tight but it is going to keep your stuff dry
[and use the tube of seamsealer they give you]

if it has any weakness at all, when the top is down and water gets on the little
4 corner spring clips, those clips rust FAST...that is the only weakness...the clips will get rusty if left in rain.

I used 16ga jacketed wire, run from an auxiliary fuse box in my engine bay to a switch I cut into the side of the box. From the switch I used the same wire and split it into 4 different runs, 2 going to the softopper 1 going to each side of the bed for the rail lighting. I soldered the joint of those wires and shrink wrapped them like hell. (2 layers over each solder joint, then covered all of it with 2 more layers.) From there I made sure the runs that are zap strapped to the rails of the canopy had enough room to flex when it was raised or lowered, and would not pinch on anything.

One thing I'm not super happy about is the fact that ilthe zap straps create ridges on the canvas. I'm planning on getting some 3M double sided foam tape to hold the lights to the rails.
