I just have to say this, no offense meant. That is the strangest question I've read in a long time.

that's only because bestop and softopper are 2 different products... yet people always mix them up!

I have the Bestop Supertop (windows all the way around) and I could probably fold it down if my truck was on fire and there was a gun to my head. The front window against the cab is fixed, it cannot roll up or be removed but the top can be collapsed with it. The side windows do not roll up, the are either zipped in or removed entirely. The rear tailgate window does roll up or zip out entirely.

    Glad I could entertain a little :D

I know they are 2 separate things. I was stating that I know the bestop can't be folded down with the side windows (wanted confirmation)... I was asking if the softopper can... does the softopper not have optional side windows? I thought it was an option.

Unfortunately not, on the softopper its a continuous canvas from one side of the beef to the other. There are options for mesh front and rear windows though.

The bestop has not been redisigned for the 3rd gens, it can work. The softop has been redisigned. And no you need to remove the Windows to fold down the bestop, softop doesn't have side windows, thus can be folded down with out having to remove the nonexistent side windows.

Installation day. Still need to install the light kit from mattgecko, add some bungee netting to the ceiling, and apply the seam sealer.

Works great with the cut bed rails for the factory tonneau cover and with the relentless fabrication tool brackets.

    Heres a Bestop for a 2nd gen but on a 3rd gen

Fits my 3rd gen 90 percent. our tailgate is bigger and theres an opening in the corners of the tailgate., works fine if you just need some cover. got it for dirt cheap so i didnt mind the not perfect fit, if it last's 2-3 more years its money well spent.

I don't know, but I think the imperfect fit makes it look better. I'm having a hard time describing what I like about it.

It just looks more rugged, maybe? I dunno? I just like that look...and I own the soft topper brand.
