Did you run power for the canopy lights all the way to the battery? Or did you tap into another circuit?

I did the same mod, for mine, it comes directly from the battery to a fuse panel, them back to the lights.

Hey, the bike mounts on the side are what's giving the support. Without those I don't think a Frontier Softopper would work. I called Softopper to order a part and they said it will not work, however I proved them wrong and everything works great and it folds down like it should. I do have a bracket bolted in at the tailgate to support a led rear pod and to secure the back end of the Softopper bed rails. I hope this helps.

Mine did this too, so I said screw it and used the extra screw caps Softopper included, and drilled them into the bed. Haven't had an issue since.

The directions were wildly unhelpful on this bit...took some trial and error but when done properly you're supposed to close the back window before closing the tailgate. This should give a little bit of "security" against opportunist lazy thieves if you lock your tailgate. The bar that attaches to the bottom of the window has a slot that latches into the tabs of the curved part attached to the rails. Let me know if you haven't figured it out; I'm reinstalling mine on tomorrow for a beach trip and can take some close up pics of the proper configuration.

I'm cool now. Got my Softopper installed this weekend! Really impressed with the build quality and how easy the installation was.

Does anyone know if the height of the softopper towards the area by the front of the cab is height adjustable? for example in the last two pictures posted in here, one seems higher than the cab (spruce mica picture) and one looks to be flush with the cab (Inferno picture). Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks folks!

Interesting. I never noticed that, and not sure I missed someone during the installation or what. I got mine used so I didn't have any instructions.

it looks like its on right. They made slight changes to the soft topper for the 3rd gens, I think thats the difference.

You can somewhat adjust the height by tightening the black straps that clip down the front. Problem is if you tighten those straps too much, the canvas wont be as smooth. My 2nd gen is pretty level/smooth though. Love how the Grey softopper looks on my MGM..IMG_1018.jpg
