You could bring the fabric inside the house for a day or two to warm up.
Hang it over the shower curtain in the bathroom, plug in an additional space heater, and close the door on it for a few hours. Get it really warmed up.

Go outside and install the hardware part of things, and get it mostly adjusted in place.
Once all of that is assembled, go get your warm toasty fabric and do whatcha gotta do with it, where you gotta do it.

At least route you won't be working with stiff cold fabric from the get go.

It's going to be delivered Monday. I believe I will keep it inside until the next Saturday when the say we might get to 40 something, use a milk house heater in the bed and go for it.

I reinstalled mine at around 35°F. It was a little tough to snap and had more wrinkles than a shirt that was in a suitcase for a week.

I used a combination of a small propane heater in the bed and a heat gun at a safe distance to de-wrinkle it.

I'd be worried about damage if it were below freezing.

It will arrive Friday along with a high of 23°. I think it will just stay in the house until things warm up a bit.

Once In the low 30s with my 15 degree bag and insulated sleeping pad. It was in the mountains though. Maybe slightly more condensation than a tent, but it was comfortable. Just ordered a -20 bag to stay extra cozy in the winter.

Last February, the lady, dog and I went camping in the White Mountains of NH. We all crammed into the bed of the truck and it was 13* that night. The temp was brisk, but it was mostly the space that was tight and uncomfortable.

I slept in my old beat up softopper (the one before this ^) while driving across the country. It was the old style and was well used. It kept me dry and warm even in cold rain. These things are awesome!

Sounds like we're in for an adventure! Yeah I've slept under the ST plenty of times around 50F just never below 40F. Can't wait to get out there

Im running mine (softtopper) all year round. Here in NY its been below 25* for about a week and im really surprised how well not just the canvas but the plastic pieces are holding up.

the clear windows are a little firm with the cold, but show no signs of failing...absolutely love the quality of their product!

Im going on 2 weeks of single digit temps on my Bestop with no issues. I normally take it off for winter, but decided to leave it on this winter. No problems but I would NOT even think about trying to unzip the back window.

You'll be fine at those temps. Ive slept in mine multiple times in 30-40* temps comfortably with no problems. Use a good bag/sleeping pad and youll be fine. Condensation is the biggest issue Ive noticed. Everything feels damp in the morning, but that happens in my tent too..

I got a softopper only because I’ve heard many people complain that the side windows on the bestop are a pain in the ass to put back on, and then supposedly harder to take down or something like that.
