I also installed mine last Friday and thought the same thing about the front seeming loose, but been driving with it at 60+ mph and don’t hear or see any flapping or anything like that. Loving it so far!

I stitched earth magnets into the bottom of the back underneath the Velcro and it sticks to the tailgate like a dream and keeps it snug. Best idea ever

i tried searching through the thread but couldnt find my answer. i just bought a second hand softopper made specifically for a 3rd gen and was wondering what everyone is doing with the rear and front flaps. ive read some people using the velcro, snaps, or nothing at all. i hesistate to put velcro anywhere on the tailgate, because i wont like how itll look when the topper is up or off.

is there any drawbacks to not securing the excess fabric? thanks!!

Read the post directly above yours. That's the best for the rear flap.

I used Velcro on the forward cab end cause I didn't wanna drill my bed for the snaps and it works great. No issues even when rolled up at 80 mph. As for the rear, I left it unsecured and there's no issues as well.

That magnet idea stated earlier sounds like a great idea.

Need to replace a few outside buckles... The females broke. Possible without cutting and sewing? Ugh I think not

The aluminum base for the softopper. It slides in on both sides.

How does it slide in when the clamps are in a track that doesn't allow them to move inward or outward?
