I have two different ideas on how I would have mine built.
    1. Make it tall enough to where the soft top has room to fold down without any obstuction (this height would need to be anout 3” taller than a normal bed rack, I would still need to confirm those 3”) I know at first thought you would think it looks goofy with the bed rack so tall, but.... if later on you can swing a gobi rack ot simmilar on the cab of the truck, now you have a pretty much uniform line of cargo structure front to back.

    2. If I want to keep it just low enough to where I have roomto roll up the sides or eventually fold down the top completely. I would design it to make the front to back structure a one piece arch with its corresponding one or two down tubes (depending on length of bed) and the three or four cross bars (left to right) easily removable to where you can just pop them off, fold and tuck your topper and remount the cross bars.

It will be cool to see what you come up with.

I haven't quite decided if I'm building it with mild steel DOM, or aluminum yet.

Is there an installation thread somewhere for these? Been thinking of getting one for my Tacoma. Love the look of the Soft Topper.

The instructions that come with them are fairly detailed and it is a super easy install.

it mounts to the front and side bed track/rails. I had to buy a 2nd gen gen rail since the 3rd gens don't come with them. It slides under the square softopper frame. Unfortunately they stopped making them so you would have to design something to make it work.
