That has potential. Reflect some of that heat.

I am going to put Reflectix on the top as well on the underside, but was more hoping to keep cold air in, and run a small dehumidifier inside as well. I HATE sleeping hot now...

    koditten..I thought about that
.when crossing the border they take several pictures of your vehicle so not sure about trying it. I wouldn't mind paying the duty if it's only on a small percentage of the price only around $300.00 I am only.1/2 hour drive to the border and there are several state parks close to it. I.also have a US post box so I.need to do the math. I think the bestop is probably OK I just don't.like the fact that you.have to remove the side windows to fold it flat

Thanks for the reply. Good information.

I agree on the disadvantage of having to remove the sides. I like the look of the best top, but liked the ST better.

Just curious about the idea of getting a 3rd Gen long bed on a 1st Gen Tacoma.

    Just reinstalled my softopper today.

    Couple questions/concerns.

How close to the cab do you have yours? Also my brackets seem to pull the rails inward. It may because of my rack.

Are you sure you have the clamps positioned correctly? You don't have the bottom part of the clamp clamping on one of the top rail trim tabs? Slide the clamp an inch one way or the other so you are on a flat surface if the underside of the bed top.

Ya, I’ve moved them around a few times. This is the the 3rd time installing/reinstalling. I think the they don’t reach out far enough because of the rack. Not sure how to explain it.

At this point, I’m just making sure others don’t have an issue similar. Then I will know it’s my setup.

Anyone with a Cement have a gray softopper? All the ones I’ve seen have been black.

That rack is perfect for a soft topper. Where did you get it/who made it?

Local to Denver fabricator. @3378jakesr5 made it...but he doesn't seem to be around anymore. I'm sure there are mainstream fabricators that can make something similar. It's held up well...

Probably this guy. He does not appear to be making them anymore.

Lots of people are, I was up until a few weeks ago. A quick search didn't turn up a Bestop specific thread. This thread is specific to the Softopper brand soft topper, so that's why there is a huge bias for that product.
