Sup guys, just picked up the SoftTopper today. Used, good price. For the rear flap. I was planning on using magnets. Is it best to make a tiny slit and slide em into the flap behind the Velcro or us Velcro patches to hold them on? Rear will be access multiple times daily, need quick and durable access.

    Edit; obligatory picture.

If you need access that much, just leave it rolled up. I've left mine rolled up all summer.

I’m planning to go with magnetic strips with a Velcro backing. Should have them on tomorrow. Will report back after a week or two of use.

That's what I liked about the softop in hangs down over the tailgate. On my Bestop it just barely covers the top of the tailgate so I think I will get it extended a inch or so. I like the strip magnetic idea to keep it in place. It rains lots here where I live probably close to 250 days a year

Where did you find Velcro backed magnets?

Sorry for misleading you guys. They’re not exactly Velcro backed magnets. The Velcro strip I bought has an adhesive backing, same with the magnetic strip.

I plan to measure, cut then stick the two adhesive sides together. So I’ll end up with a Velcro backed magnetic strip. At least it sounds good in theory.:fingerscrossed:

Seam sealed some of the seams close to the front and back bows as you could see light around the stitching and the front corners had a good size gap between the box and the box cap so water was running in there so added a couple of layers of foam tape so hopefully it will keep the water out and hooked up the high mount brake light that came with the kit

I don't see how it would work. There is a pivot point or hinge that is inside the bed rails on both sides.

Bed Mat and Go Pro. Toyota made it so good, doesn't need much mods. Don't like getting her dirty!!
How do you like the grey versus the black? I’m in the Miami, Fl area so heat from sun is a concern. I like the black, but may choose grey if it stays cooler...

Can't say for sure yet about a temp difference. It hasn't gotten hot here yet. It's pretty heavy canvas material, so it's not really "breathable". It's going to absorb heat no matter the color. Probably a minimal (5-10 degree) difference in actual temp, black vs grey. Just guessing, but there would be some reflective quality if there was a white or sand color.
Anyway, you can bet on it (fabric) and whatever is inside getting pretty toasty.

The Colorado has a much taller bed. Even if it does fit, it'll probably be too short to look proportionate.
