I actually got the topper on craigslist for $250 a while ago. So I didn't really have a choice. However if I had to do it over. I would get either the gray or the tan. Personally I think a tan topper only looks good on a modified MGM. so until that happens, gray it is.

I can try to snap more pics. Any particular angle?

Now that is exactly how a Toyota pickup should look. Regular cab power!

I got the Black for my MGM, I figure if it fades some it will look a little grey. Honestly, I like MGM with black accessories. I have some photos in my thread, check my sig for a link.

I originally wanted a black softopper as well, but like above, cant pass up a solid Craigslist deal. Im actually really happy with the grey, not nearly as many people have it.

Anybody mount a long awning to the roof rack and have it overhang towards the softopper? I would like to go with the ARB 2500 awning mounted to my Baja rack. Obviously it wont have any other mounting point utilizing the softopper like you would a hard top. I wanna see some pics if anyone is doing this

I’ve got one of those indoor/outdoor thermometers with the LCD display and remote sensor. Receiver in the cab, remote in the back. Worked great. Mine was about $18 but I think you can find a cheap one for like $10 or so.

Softopper side view. Messing with the low cost Smittybilt Trail Shade awning. Connected the straps to the roof rack and it actually works good in this spot. Not bad for $60

Anyone running a grey Softopper on a black Tacoma? If so, I’d love to see a pic.

Question for you guys about the front flap of your topper...
Does the front flap that sits between the bed and the cab stay put? I used the button-screws on the inside of the bed, and am wondering if I set them too low. I haven't driven over 45mph with the topper yet, but so far no problems. Interested in how your topper is sitting.

    Thx.

    Agree.

I hated running those screws into the bed, so I tried going without them. No joy. The front flap area just flapped around like crazy and made some hella noises.

I installed the button screws and all has been great for 3 years.

As if there isn’t enough reasons to get a softopper.

Folded down to grab this workbench for work.
