It’s hot AF today where I’m at so I tried removing the light and sticking it to the topper instead. Came off fairly easy so we’ll see if it holds. Now I can roll up the sides and remove the back window like a bad ass.

If it doesnt stick. Could try hand sewing on the loop side of velcro, then double side the hook part onto the light.

That’s a great idea as well! I’ll figure something out if the time comes.

They are even better once you put some reflectix on the ceiling to block some heat.

Spent some time in the mountains this weekend - softopper worked out great!

For those curious, I bought the tent add-on through Amazon, but it doesn't come with the awning poles that softopper themselves sells. Would recommend just buying it from softtoppper as it ends up costing the same price buying the tent and awning poles separately. truck airbed was great as well! No complaints from the fiance.

Yet another good weekend to have a softopper. It kept most of my stuff dry, minus the tips of the boats, but who care about that anyway. When I went to go get wood I was able to fold it down and out of the way and clean it easily afterward. Probably will end up getting another one of these or something like it on my new truck. This was the last trip with my Tacoma and it's all cleaned up for sale now.

Maybe, I got a text this morning from a local guy that wants to know if I'd sell it. Shipping isn't impossible, but it isn't easy once you get rid of their original boxes. Mine are long gone... and there's a bit of a setup / tear-down process that's a bit cumbersome if you truly want to disassemble it and ship it. The easiest way would be to meet someone halfway local and just swap over the frame-rails

I professed my love for the Softopper: http://dirtnsmores.com/why-i-love-my-softopper/

    Here's the gist of it:

    Pros:

    • Keeps gear covered and out of the rain, eyes off your stuff
    • Retracts down in less than a minute to haul taller items
    • Can be removed in a few minutes to easily store in garage
    • Great for sleeping under, stays cool in summer
    • Sides can be rolled up for traveling with dogs while keeping them shaded
    • Lighter and cheaper than hard shell
    • Looks badass
    Cons:

    • Not secure
    • Limited color options
    • Not 100% waterproof
    • Not well insulated for cold weather camping
    • Can’t mount roof rack on top
    • Hard to attach buttons when it’s cold outside

So badass. How hard is it to remove the bars when hauling large items? Do the softopper railings need to come off with it when removing?
