It also looks like he has the wrong clamps. It doesn’t look like they have the c-notch that goes over the side rails for the softopper and actually secures it down. Or is it just me?

Doesn’t look like the C notch clamps to me.

Yeah...and I can actually hear myself think.

I noticed that as well. I'll readjust.

These were the clamps that they came with...and I picked it up from Softopper directly. Granted, this was 3 years ago...I'll check with them.

Thanks for all of the feedback!

I have to say, my new favorite orientation is with the back window completely removed. Keeps stuff still mostly protected, but so easy to get stuff in and out of the bed. Have it set up that way right now on my way to go camping.

On further reflection, I have what appears to be an older style of bedrail that necessitates that style of clamp. It may be worth it to get the newer style.

    Something came today....
    MVIMG_20190628_210441.jpg

I got it installed mostly but need to know if I have it forward enough. Got a little gap between cab and topper

When you’re up to it. Might want to move it forwards a bit

Like this? Moved the rails mid way up the front bed rail.

That's what I'm doing. It's especially good with dogs. You'll coat the inside with a nice layer of dust though if you go hauling down a dirt road...

true, i've done that and learned the hard way... been putting my bikes on the tailpad with the topper rear window open. I've been reconsidering getting a one up rack for the hitch, to keep the topper closed while cruising dusty roads. plus i can just keep my sleeping set up out instead of having to pack it up to fit the bikes.

You can get it as close to the cab as possible without touching... like 1/2" - 1" gap max. the fitment is way better that way. Plus you should dress your velcro closures better, they look sloppy. A little dressing makes it all look so much cleaner.

Yeah. That’s looking better. Just like some of the other guys said, might want to go even a bit more closer. Mines about 1/2 on the front bed rail too. It fits about perfect when folded down. I’ll probably move it just a little bit more forward too. Don’t go more that 3/4 though or else you’ll hit your rear windows.

I ended up moving it to 3/4 up the rail. Don't understand why st doesn't just specify that as where to put the rails

Def different clamps. But are the side rails also different? They look 90° bent metal frames. Maybe I'm seeing things

Will softopper swap the canvas for a different color?
