No, you're right. Mine is 3 years old now...looks like the bedrails were upgraded to a more functional design. I'm rolling to Softopper on Tuesday to query it.

I haven’t done the seam sealer either. Mine doesn’t leak at all.

Is there anyone who didn't put the Velcro on the tailgate?

It flaps in the back, I just figure I’m airing out stuff. It annoyed me at first, but I got past it.

I didn’t. It flaps in the wind. I just tuck it between the metal pole and the tailgate

    I didn't.

It lifts up and down (slow flap I guess) at highway speeds. Hasn't been an issue.

I just adjust the rearview so I don't see the rear window flapping.

I went ahead and added it to the tailgate for now. I do a lot of driving at 70+

I put a strip of clear 3m vinyl along the top of the tailgate, this will prevent paint wear. I bought a roll of magnet and attached velcro to one side of it and stuck the magnet along the velcro strip of the rear window. Its not a super strong bond, but I haven't had any issues with the rear window flapping.

That's cool. What kind of magnets did you use?
