I like this, mine is flapping in the wind and it drives me crazy.

    Anyone else have this problem?

Magnets. I used flexible strip magnet combined with Velcro. The adhesive failed in the heat from last week but i reused them both with 3m double sided tape. No more flapping

Just got enough pages back, and saw all the posts, Heading to the hardware store.

I also need to pick up a straight pole for my 2nd gen, my softopper currently has the bent pole for the 3rd gen.

I might have enough aluminum tube left over from my fix. I can check tomorrow but if you’re coming by this weekend I can hook you up.

Ok, sweet man. I want to try and use the 3rd gen retainer brackets. Figured cut a piece of tubing and shove the 3rd gen connector tips into the it. I'll hold off till I come over this weekend

One last and final question when you soldered into your tail light wires how or what method did you use to waterproof that??

    Reserected from the dead.
Marine grade heat shrink tubing. It has an adhesive inside that makes it very water resistant.

What I’ve done in the past for a situation like this is cut the wire you’re trying to tap into, slide the heat shrink on, and resolder it. Then solder a second time to get the new wire tapped into it. Sure you could maybe solder it all at once but I found it’s easier this way.

    Can I join the party?

From the looks of others, I think mine might be too far forward?
