Apologies if this has been discussed but I searched "tonneau" in the thread and did not see this same question.

Are any of switching back and forth between the tonneau and softopper? How long does it take you to do so?

I use a hard tonneau right now and I love the security (I have locking tailgate) and the look. However, for camping and long trips, I would love to have the added space of a softopper. So my thought is to put the softopper on when I am making trips or going camping. Anyone else here doing this?

Every fall the tonneau goes on, takes half hourish. Spring Softopper goes back on, again about half hourish. That taking stuff out and putting away the other.

Thank you! I am assuming that is half an hour on your own, correct?

Ya, putting the softopper on is easier with 2, but very doable by yourself

I put mine on by myself. It's not terribly difficult.

If you watch the install video on YouTube, it'll go a lot faster, than trying to read the instruction manual.

Got the tan one installed yesterday.
Need to figure out how to improve the wrinkles at the back...maybe will straighten out over time?

Looks good. Yes, over time it will stretch here and there and level out all of the wrinkles. You can try loosening the rear straps a touch and see if it pulls tight.

Anyone know the width of the velcro strip on the back flap? Would be greatly appreciated!

Where do you live? How hot does it get?

I have one husky. It all depends on how hot it is depends on if I take her out for a truck ride. Theres a bunch of different variations to have the topper. But I dont think the pups will get much airflow unless the sides are rolled up. I would worry about how you get air into the topper and the wind damaging the topper and potentially hurting the pups.

Well I live in the Okanagan up in Canada,it can get hot May to August 28 -40 celcius depending on the month. Honestly it would only be for trips to the bush when it is hot,so up in the Mountains it is cooler anyway. And I did see you can get mesh windows for the Soft topper brand ,just not clear if it is all the way around or just the back

The only variations you can do to change the topper is to have clear, mesh, or solid rear flap. And the window near the cab you can swap it out for a doggy door window, meaning theres a flap so you can open the rear sliding window and have some access to the pups in the truck bed. Otherwise sides are always solid.

Not the best visual, but if I'm puttin around town and take the pup this is normally how I keep the topper. Shes harnessed in closest to the cab. The teather is long enough just so she can poke her out the side. I doubt she would ever jump out but I don't ever want to take that chance.

The vid is me wanting to see what the meso stage 1 kit looked like in direct sunlight.

Recently picked up a used Softopper from someone local for a 3rd gen long bed. It came with a straight rear bar as opposed to a curved one. I initially though this was incorrect, however, after some digging around on Softopper's site, it looks like the long beds come with the straight bar and the short beds come with a curved bar. Can anyone confirm this? I've called Softopper the last two days trying to get info on this, but haven't gotten anyone to pick up.
