Let's See Some Softoppers

Loooove my softopper. Took a pretty dusty trip up to mammoth, came home and used The Chemical Guys convertible top cleaner and convertible top sealer last week. The top looks nice an black, and water and dust come right off!

 

I was behind a 3rd gen with one on the highway today - I am seriously considering one once my tonneau wears out. I need to reach out to see if I can see one locally to make sure I am ok w/o side windows on the softopper.

 

I found that I can't see out the sides of the bed in my DCSB with the rear head rest up anyways. So, I just got used to using the rear view and side mirrors to see around the side-windowless Softopper.

 

You def get used to losing some visibility when driving. What I hate is the visibility you lose when you're back out of a parking spot. It can be difficult to see if there are people walking near the rear of the vehicle. Most times I'll back into a spot. It's the parking spots that are diagonal that are a pita.

 

Got a really good deal on a soft topper, cleaned up it honestly looks almost brand new

 

I dont know how you guys in cold weather states use a softopper. I spent a weekend in a place that got in the 30's and trying to maneuver the topper was a little difficult. But would still not get rid of my softopper.

 

With the Velcro strip on the tailgate, dust is kept out rather well. From experience...

Well, yes and no. The Taco is just over a year old. The temp plates are Radio Operator temp plates. HAM radio thing. Although, I went there stock as well. Have pics even! That's when I lost the bumper tip you see missing there.

Does anyone here have any pictures they can share of a black Tacoma with either the black or grey Softopper?? I'm debating about getting black or grey for a black truck.

I considered the same colors recently and went with black on black. It's not just for crime anymore. Looks boss. Pics a few pages back.

 

I highly suggest putting velcro at the very least for the front flap near the back window. On my last trip it was pretty windy so the outside flap (between bed and rear truck window) picked up and was inside the truck bed which caused all kinds of issues and it was not pleasant at all driving
