Let's See Some Softoppers

Got all my zippers up today, the trick that worked for me was to unsnap the rear top loop, from there I was able to push the top around till the zippers all fit. Now the top fits great.

 

On my third softopper! Every time I get rid of one, another seems to find it’s way to me!

 

Well, it's on, freaking love it, awesome bday present from the wife. Only question is both the driver side and passenger side bars are sort of slanting inwards (being pulled in). Is this normal? I tried taking a pic of it but not sure if it shows well.

 

mine do that as well. If there is a trick to making them perfectly flat, I’d like to know.

 

So I had ordered a pair of extra clamps so I just moved the two original clamps outward to the edges and placed the extras in the middle and cranked them down and it made it much better but not 100%.

 

Love the versatility of my Softopper, was able to load these super tall & expensive flowers without damaging them. Just folded the topper forward and got to work.

 

Anyway i could see some side pics and back pics of your tuck with the topper on? I have a access cab in silver sky and would like to see more pics.

 

Sadly, no. I sold that 3rd gen in 2018. Those are the only pics I have with the topper.

Softopperless today. Had to haul a few loads of junk to the recycling center, bitchin’ cold, decided to put it back up later

 

Curious, couldn't you have just folded it forward as opposed to removing?

 

Non of us like to fold it when its very cold. It's too easy to crack the plastic window. Just safer to remove the whole thing.

 

6 55 gallon drums and more random metal, didn’t want it getting fucked up by accident. Working with the Softopper in 10° kinda sucks too

 

For those of you with a softoppper on your tacos, have you done much driving with the rear and side panels rolled up/ how does it hold up?

 

I had mine up for a couple weeks this summer. Took it on a 200 mile highway road trip. Only thing different was having better visibility out the back. I didn't notice any abnormal flapping or similar.

 

Mine are rolled up often at surface street speeds, no issues at all, but wouldn’t try it at highway speeds.

 

We must have different models.

Cruise set at 80 and I don't notice any issues
